Good spot for a meal. About 10 miles South of Chama. Small with personal service, limited menu but Good Food .
First of all, they claim they serve "Spanish and American Food". What they mean is they serve American and Southwestern Food. Spanish food is very different from Mexican or Southwestern food. I ordered stuffed sopapilla, and my husband ordered the combination plate. The chili and meat, in our dishes, were bland (needed alot more seasoning) and not enough of it. This place is very expensive for what you get - my dish was over $10 and should have cost around $5. I dread non-native folks driving through Chama and eating this mess and thinking this is typical of Spanish or southwestern cuisine. Find another place - this place is pitiful. The only positive note is that our waitress was great.
Regardless of the first reviewer's comments, this place is barely up and running and does not have license to serve alcohol. If you like iced tea with your very small overpriced pizza, then this is the place for you. Will check back next year for improvements.
While traveling through Chama, we were hungry and decided to stop by Glorybys Taco House for a late lunch. On the menu, we were torn between their enchiladas and the green chili cheeseburger. We opted for the cheeseburger. Good choice. The burger was a large burger with an ample amount of chili (with a bit of a bite). Good burger. We also ordered fries. They were also good.Nice stop with reasonably attentive service. The place is a big room with high ceilings and booths around the walls.Nice stop in Chama.

Cliffview has one of the better steaks I have had recently. The restaurant is located at the base of Brazos Cliffs in an old log structure. Lots of charm. The food was excellent including the Razelberry pie with a huge helping of ice cream. I will be back!!!The restaurant is only open Thursday through Saturday evenings and just in the summer

Drove into charming Chama on the way to Durango. This subway sits back off the highway in a free standing building and has a good amount of parking, tables and seating. The food was good, the place was clean, the restrooms were clean and the sandwich shop seemed busy. Next time you find yourself in Chama give the Subway a try.

Cozy little place, nearly hidden at the back of the first floor of the Foster Hotel. If you search Google Maps for restaurants in Chama it, unfortunately, doesnât show up. I was headed to another restaurant that would open at 7am before embarking on the Cumbres to Antonito Bus when someone pointed that the Foster Hotel Bar and Restaurant opened at 6am. Great â more time to eat breakfast. The place has a nice historic feel to it (from 1881), many old pictures, an old woodstove, inside, etc. The service was super cordial and quick. The food was good, and the portions were massive. One pancake fills up a whole plate and is nearly 1â thick. Two come when you order that for breakfast⦠Saw locals eat here, unlike other restaurants in town â a good sign in my books. This is where I would come back from breakfast when in town.

The Elkhorn Cafe is a restaurant located in scenic Chama New Mexico featuring New Mexican and American Cuisine. Rustic, great food and friendly Service!!
Food was generally good. Hubby had breakfast burrito. Came with potatoes and green chilies. He liked it. I got the ham omelet. Too much ham but tasty. Served with one slice of underdone, under buttered toast. Also came with hash browns. Just shy of $25.00 for breakfast! Way too expensive for us.

I had breakfast here and enjoyed it very much. The menu is varied but mainly Mexican. The cafe is across the street from the Cumbres & Toltec RR depot. I'd guess it's a good spot for other meals, which is worthwhile because dining options are limited in Chama.
