I didn't know what to expect and I was impressed. The decor was unique for a CR restaurant which was definitely a positive change of pace. The service was possibly the best I have experienced in this area. The food did not disappoint. They had some unique otems and typical items prepared on a non-typical manner. So, if you are like me and get tired of typical menu fare, give Black Sheep a try.

WOW! Went for the brunch. What a variety. Everything was fresh and tasted very good. Will definitely plan on going on another visit to our daughter in college in Cedar Rapids.

Food was on point! Beautiful presentation mirrored with outstanding taste. Braised pork gnocchi was so amazing that I could have had it for my meal! Scallops perfectly cooked (extremely hard to do). I highly recommend the brown butter panda cotta with apple and granola. Melt in your mouth deliciousness!

Very popular on a Saturday evening. Bit of a wait for a table but well worth it. Filet was perfect. Chicken Maralla was delicious. Skewered chicken was nicely prepared and presented. Onion rings were generous and really good. Vegetarian burger was tasty.

Emilâs Hide away is pretty much a regular stop for us now when we visit our son who attends college nearby. Varied menu, Excellent sandwich selection, great sides, nice casual atmosphere, consistently good service. Not a chain, which we like. Parking lot is small and itâs a bit tricky to get to, but it is worth the bit of trouble every time!

This is my favorite pizza in Cedar Rapids. I have fortunately patronized Need since their first day of business. The first visit was very good and they have consistently gotten better. Besides pizza that can be customized, their salads are very fresh. If you are in a hurry this is not the place for you. As they say, good food takes time and I don't mind waiting a little longer.

I fully understand that this is a culinary SCHOOL, but I still expected better. The appetizer and salad courses were good. The main dish was grilled lamb. The server did not ask how we wanted our lamb cooked. The lamb arrived well done and it was a "chew and spit" experience because the lamb was very tough and impossible to swallow. The desserts made up for the inedible lamb.On a positive note, I was impressed by the cocktail offerings - Singapore Sling, Pisco Sour, etc. I didn't try any cocktails, but they sounded interesting.bamboola,I'm glad you had the opportunity to join us for the Athens Dinner! It was certainly one of the freshest & healthiest cuisines we'll feature this year. All lamb was supposed to come out medium-rare, which is why we didn't take temperatures. Clearly missed the mark on your selection, which is hugely disappointing. Lamb is a delicacy that can't be fully enjoyed when cooked beyond medium. Our team failing to notice the error and offering a replacement is the real shortcoming in this situation. This place is the bomb! Service was on top and perfect.
