If I were asked the best place to eat breakfast in the Lakes Region, I'd say go to Chute's. You go wrong here. This place has been here for decades. Cozy little country style cafe/diner and bakery. Only open for breakfast. Everything is made from scratch. Just like eating a breakfast your grandmother cooked at home. They have the full breakfast menu. Pretty much anything you could want. Prices will make you look twice. It's like looking at a menu where the prices haven't changed with inflation in about ten+ years. Just when you thought it wasn't possible to get a home style meal with large portions for less than $10, guess again. The pancakes are good, but I prefer the french toast with some bacon, eggs, home fries and, a fresh baked muffin. Everything is fantastic, though! Also visit the original Chutes in North Windham, about 12 miles down the road as you're headed towards Portland.

Marie prepares meals daily using only fresh and quality ingredients. Never are preservatives or additives added to a meal. No meal ever leaves the kitchen that Marie would not serve to her family. Marie's meals accommodate everyone's budget, taste and lif
We happened up Marieâs after reading the numerous TripAdvisor recommendations - and what a treat it was! Homemade options, fresh, fresh, fresh. We chose the roast beef sandwich, fresh roasted turkey and cranberry sandwich, Caesar salad, and grilled cheese sandwich. All of which were absolutely delicious and homemade. Highly recommend and plan to enjoy lunch by the water at Marieâs again next summer.
We were hungry and delighted that we stumbled upon this place. There are numerous hot and cold sandwiches to choose from, including many vegetarian options. I had the veggie reuben which was delicious. Everyone was happy with their selection. While we were sitting at the outdoor picnic tables, waiting for our sandwiches, we saw a few people run in and out with a slice on f pizza, so if you are in a hurry, that is an option too.

We decided to leave the coast area of Southern Maine (Old Orchard Beach) and do some exploring. It was very hot out, 92 degrees at lunch time. We took a chance with the Freedom Cafe and were very pleased. We are out on the back deck, most likely 90 in the shade, but it was right on the water. Food was excellent. I had a pulled pork sandwich with blueberry bbq sauce which was awesome and my wife had a lobster roll. Service was good, music was good.....glad we stopped.

Captain Jack's is sort of the locals spot, but is welcoming to all. Great location sitting right above the marina and on the channel between Long Lake and Brandy Pond. Most days there will be live music which can make it loud, so don't expect a quiet lunch along the water. Staff is always fantastic. Will never be a 4/5 star service, but we're in Naples not Portland, you shouldn't expect it! Attentive but not there to hold you hand! Menu provides something for everyone, but I am a fan of the steak and cheese which comes loaded. The Buffalo Chicken Wrap with bacon is great as well, but is a bit inconsistent. Beer menu is nice as well, with the basic Bud Heavy and Bud Light, or grab a Lone Pine Portland Pale. Owner is around all the time, although he is enjoying himself but not to an irresponsible level.. Swing on through!

This is our place to get lobster and steamers to go. We've been ordering g for years, quality and service still great. Every once in a while we eat in, it never disappoints. Prices reasonable for takeout. The corn pictured is ours, lobster and clams were great.

A small local family owned business featuring Maine favorites and elevated pub fare. We're famous for our variety of 1/3 lb, fresh, tail knuckle and claw, Maine Lobster Rolls, but if seafood isn't you're thing, we've got amazing 1/2 lb Angus Burgers, Jumb
This is a cut place though a little 'rough' interior (in other words, not fancy tables or lighting). The bar looks like fun (we had kids so that was out). Get the lemon-zesty lobster roll (highly recommend it). Check out before you go, they aren't open on Sundays.

I beginning to believe that there is no Hash served. Second time we have been here to try the hash that they rave about. Again 10 am and no hash and a few other things sold out. Please if it is on your menu make enough for service time. It is not a special. Most likely will not go here again.

An authentic Irish pub in the heart of the Lakes Region. Created in the spirit of country pubs in southern Ireland, the owner, from Waterford, Ireland, assures us that the tradition and ambiance of a true âpublic houseâ is presented to each guest that vis
We just had a beautiful delicious filling extended family meal and canât wait to go back.I had a full rack of baby back ribs which I begrudgingly shared with my family members! Fortunately they shared their seafood bake with fabulous lobster shrimp and nicely cooked white fish. One of kids shared the pulled pork with me which I am thankful for. Beautifully cooked and delicious. My wifeâs twin filets weâre perfectly medium rare as requested and possibly the finest dish of the evening. Outstanding. The salads were excellent â we shared both the house salads as well as a Caesar salad. Even the rolls were warm and delicious. The tap menu offered Guinness and Smithwickâs as well as many rotating taps. I had a Smithwickâs and and a Switchback and both were excellent. The service was prompt, polite, and around for questions. Atmosphere: perfect. Guy playing guitar in a pleasant and not overbearing way that augmented the entire experience. Canât wait to go back.
