The service here is fast and accurate. Sometimes there is even a little extra. I don't think it's on purpose. You get a fair deal in this restaurant. It's clean and I've never seen it dirty.

We got up with the sun and stopped in for breakfast before heading north for the Solar Eclipse. The staff really got into creating a special breakfast to honor the event (see photos). We didn't order the special, but had the Hut Special - pancakes, bacon, eggs, and coffee. The food was quite good and filling and the coffee was typical diner - okay but not fancy. There's a cute Lowell Davis sculpture outside and the Chicago Coin's Band-Box, an old-timey Route 66 tourist attraction inside.

We Are A Sit Down, Take Out, Call In, Drive Thru. We Offer Full Service Catering. Our Bbq Is Our Specialty. We Also Offer Fresh Hamburgers. Fresh Wings Cooked To Order With 8 Great Flavors. We May Be Decorated For The Boomer Sooner Fan At Heart, But We We
We met other couples for dinner Saturday night. Boomer Sooner BBQ is one of two BBQ restaurants in Carthage. The previous TA reviews were encouraging. However...(1) it is very difficult to order. The menu is directly order your head, and is NOT simple. They should provide a paper menu or move the menu to eye level. (2) The tables/chairs are all fastened to the floor, and the tables/chairs were not comfortable for our group. We were cramped...not a relaxing venue. (3) Our group got a variety of items. One ordered a rack of ribs for two, (it was obvious the ribs were not right out of the smoker). The 4-sides looked good and a generous size. However, the ribs were not cut and we had to ask for them to be cut. How did they expect us to eat them? Another ordered a pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork came in a lump/pile on the tray. I guess you have to make your own sandwich? Each order came out separately, with an awkward delay before everyone started to eat. The staff did offer to refill our drinks. ...seating and ordering were just not comfortable. Will keep looking for another BBQ fix.

Off the beaten path, far from modern but well worth stopping by. Friendly staff, everything we tried was old school great. Deli meat and cheese sliced fresh great bread, soup was homemade and delicious.Another hidden gem that harkens back to when people cared about what they do.

This local gather place was recommended by the owner of Best Budget Inn, and we were not disappointed. The menu had a great variety and good prices, and the service was very good. Caution--there is a reduced price senior menu, but the portions are regular sized, and this restaurant is not chintzy in its servings. We would definitely eat here again.

The Woodshed Burger House is located in the largest most beautiful art gallery in the mid west. We serve gourmet burgers, tasty salads, steaks and salmon. We have something for everyone on our menu!
This is one of my favorites when I'm passing through town. The food is tasty and portioned on the large side. So bring an appetite. The friendliness of the staff and the owners can't be beat. I always feel like a returning friend when I dine here.

Welcome to Iggy's Diner, a 50's - Happy Days style Route 66 Diner. Decorated walls with Route 66, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, 45's and Albums, and background music and TV. Kids Welcome. Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner. Friendly Service Good Food.
We had breakfast here as we were starting vacation. They have a senior menu which saves a little money. The senior Western Omelet was huge more than I could eat but was very good. My husband had eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns. Both meals were very good.

Iâve eaten at Whislerâs since I was a kid. This take-out burger place is about the best around. The service is always with a smile and youâre always given a friendly greeting. The burgers are on the smaller side but are OUTSTANDING. In fact, In-N-Out burgers resemble these in my opinion. On this trip, I had a couple of burgers and my family had a Pig-N-Bull (a hamburger with a ham steak on it). A real gem of a find if youâre new to the area.

I had seen this place online before we left the UK. We were staying in Joplin, whilst doing part of Route 66, and when we got there found that this place was 15 miles back up in Carthage. We werenât sure whether to go or just eat nearby, but I am so glad that we made the journey. The food was excellent, we got to see the barrel racing, and it was great value. The steaks were awesome. It is out of town, down some small country roads, but boy is it worth it. The restaurant was full and many locals were there which always shows that somewhere is good. A good variety of items on the menu. For a family of four, four main courses and four drinks, it came to $63. I wish I was staying nearby for longer so we could ago again.
