Casual beach eatery in beautiful Carpinteria, CA.
I am usually a generous person and will let mistakes in a restaurant go. I worked in one in college and when it gets busy, things can go awry. This was NOT that. My waitress was really really rude. Moreover, she was slow to come to my table, never checked in, delivered my food wrong, and slapped down the check when I was done indicating it was time to leave.Let me elaborate. I arrived and asked about the beer selection. She pointed to the list, she made a recommendation for a local Pilsner and because that was apparently the only local beer on tap, I chose that. I asked for her suggested items on the menu and she seemed annoyed then started off to help another table. She returned after a bit and took my order. I specifically asked if any of the fish was local and she seemed annoyed to have to answer that question and she didn't really answer. Listen, I go to a FISH restaurant in California that says itâs by the beach. But when you look at the menu nothing is from the ocean and this place isnât by the beach. The fish tacos are made with Alaskan cod. Clearly the crabcakes and the shrimp I had weren't locally sourced. Hentai the information I needed I mightâve tried something that was local.I did and waited a while for my food and when it arrived it was both my appetizer and my main course brought by one of the bussers. Normally I like to have my appetizer first, then the main course. Most restaurants serve it this way but not here. The crabcake with pineapple slaw was very good but by the time I got to my main course it was cold. I was sitting outside and it could have accelerated the cooling. The shrimp with chorizo was good but not hot. I would have asked her to reheat it but SHE NEVER RETURNED until I was done eating. I waited a long while hoping to snag her as she walked by but she was unattainable. I ate my food cold.I sat with a half eaten plate for a while and finished my beer. Waited longer and longer and when she finally showed, she half heartedly asked if I'd like another beer. When I said "No" she slapped the check down and I paid. This service was the worst. It gets the one star for the food quality. I'd give zero stars for the service. I am in Carpenteria for work frequently and on expense. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Great breakfast/lunch spot with all the classics and nice atmosphere and service. Both indoor and comfortable outdoor seating available.Highly recommend the bagel breakfast sandwiches for take-out, too!

have eaten here many many times, and always enjoyed it. Today, one of us got practically burned hash browns, and the other got almost undercooked hashed browns. My pancakes were tough, so much so, that i only managed to choke one down. 3 meals came out, and 4th had to wait. sadly, just not a good experience. Seemed a little pricey on the drinks as well.

The Palms gets a 4*, "very good", from me; not because it is the best steak I've ever had, but for the overall experience. The food IS very good, but it is the experience of cooking your own steak and the chill, laid back atmosphere; the bonhomie of your fellow cookers, etc that make The Palms a special place for me and a place I want to come back to every time I'm in or near Carp.I usually get the Rib eye and it includes a great salad bar. The wings are great as well.

Had three visits here on a weekend in Carpinteria. Sat outside on very pleasant patio. Good, reasonably prices wines, delicious blackened salmon BLTA, beet salad and lobster bisque. A very good choice on busy Linden Avenue.

Clementine's was so densely decorated for Christmas that we felt as if we were a part of a well-patronized Christmas festival. There was a contrast between the bitter night time cold outside and the warmth and polite laughter inside. In a large room that seemed lit mainly by Christmas lights, we shared a bowl of Boston clam chowder, a filet mignon, and a slice of rhubarb pie for dessert. Our waitress, Xenia, was helpful, happy, and courteous. The price was reasonable and the food delightful. If we are near Carpinteria during another California coastal Christmastime drive, we will make it a point to enhance our holiday spirit with a romantic steak dinner at Clementine's.

Zooker surprised me. I had no expectations going in, and we were very impressed with the food. The first impression of the place is bland. The room is not fancy and the decor is a bit cheap. Sorry, but itâs true. The menu was also bland. Nothing seemed inspiring. The service was fine. Friendly and no mistakes. BUT THEN CAME THE FOOD! Everyone loved their entrees from the seafood pasta to the eggplant parm. Good portions. Plenty of seafood in the pasta. And an overall tasty presentation. Give Zookers a chance. It might win your heart.

We enjoyed a great dinner at Rincon Brewery. We just ordered appetizers but the food was delicious and filling! We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and it was great to see so many locals in the restaurant. I would definitely go back and try their burgers.
