Find out what American restaurants to try in Camden. Camden, Maine is proud to call itself the "Jewel of the Coast." A beautiful seaport town with a harbor full of sail boats, Camden has been used as the setting for so many movies, from Carousel to Peyton Place, that it is what many people think of when they think of New England. With a series of annual festivals running all year round, including the US Toboggan Championships, the Summer HarborArts Juried Arts & Craft Show and Windjammer Weekend, there is always something to do in Camden.

Silly us, we went for a sunset view dinner but the sun set behind us. Be smarter than us. Had mac n cheese w/lobster and it was good but not stellar (too runny for my preference). Good wine, wonderful service and decent prices. We went early and even made a reservation which at that early hour wasn't necessary. I'd go there again!

Located in the century-old Knox Mill, our bistro is situated on top of the Megunticook River, just between the two waterfalls. At Brevetto, our modern Italian bistro cuisine is designed to pair perfectly with our extensiveâ and almost exclusively Italianâ
My husband and I have been coming here regularly for the past few years. We love the Happy Hour deals and the food is fantastic. Creative cocktails and the bartenders are entertaining and friendly. I consider this like an upscale Cheers bar where youâre more likely than not to meet great people and make new friends. The beer and wine list is extensive and inspired. I highly recommend this place!

First impressions of this busy seafood restaurant were good. Great buzz and lots of atmosphere. But we were underwhelmed with the food. My oysters were the smallest I have seen anywhere. The sauce with my wifeâs moules was insipid. All in all it wasnât value for money or a great gastronomic experience.

Located on Camden Harbor next to the public landing, serving lunch and dinner. Enjoy our comfortable warm inside seating with two fireplaces or our outside seating, only feet from the harbor and schooners with panoramic views of Camden Harbor.
Occupying a prime spot on the lovely Camden waterfront, Peter Ott offers a a broad menu that satisfies. Obviously, there is plenty of fish, which is well prepared. But there is also lots of non-fish choices that worked just as well. Add in friendly service and a decent wine and beer list, and you have a very enjoyable lunch.

There comes a point where the trade-offs, like "views of the harbor," don't cut it. Sandwich size? Unless you order one with thick bread, and maybe even then, are so lacking in filling you will have to go eat elsewhere immediately afterward. Ten bucks for a scrawny sandwich with a load of potato chips, and an, admittedly good pickle, is too high a price. Except on the second floor, (when it's open), there is no waitstaff. So, you place your order at the high-barrier food case, pay at the register, sit at a table, wait for your name to be called, and then go pick up your order. And then you get the overpriced, scrawny sandwich with all those potato chips which you'll be glad for because you won't get full on the sandwich, no matter how slowly you eat it. And don't think it makes a difference whether you order a lot, or a little. The laissez-faire attitude extends to all.Staff is generally not welcoming. That, too, has been forgiven long enough. When enough is enough, it's enough. No more. A sit-down meal at a full-service restaurant isn't going to set you back much more and you don't have to do most of the work yourself. Just get desserts and coffee. Great desserts at a very good price, at least the other week. Note: TA needs to change back to the $ sign for ratings for cost levels, because "cheap eats" it certainly isn't. Self serve and casual, it is.

With breakfast being offered all day I order blueberry pancakes with bacon. The pancakes were filled with delicious blueberries but the bacon was way over cooked to the point it tasted like hard tack

I had a pretty bad experience at this restaurant - mostly with food (mediocre and trying too hard unsuccessfully) but some with service and presentation. It's expensive -$300 for two people with just 2 glasses of wine - and I wanted to warn people that it wasn't a great experience. Twice TA rejected my review saying it wasn't valid. It is absolutely. I would never go here again and don't recommend it to anyone - though it's an attractive place in a good location with a view. They were "nice"- but it is so not worth the huge costs (and I live in NYC so I am used to expensive places.)Thank you Sue,We are sorry you didn't enjoy your experience at Natalie's. Butter poached Maine lobster over angel hair, Pistachio Crusted Lamb chops, Seared Diver Scallops and Grilled Salmon Nicoise are just a sample of what diners might experience at the Hartstone Inn. Steps from Camden harbor, Fodor's considers the Hartstone
Top notch menu and staff. No wonder rated #1 in Camden. We had the seafood sampler as starter followed by the wild rice crusted haddock - both were simply outstanding. Their limited menu means that everything is done just right. The chef/owner, Michael Salmon, came out and asked us how we enjoyed the meal - such a nice, personal touch. We responded affirmatively and enthusiastically. Don't miss this one!!Wow! Thank you Charles, I am thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your dinner with us. Hope to see you again soon.

At The Lobster Pound, our philosophy is simple: serve great food and treat guests like family. That philosophy was born in 1926, when The Lobster Pound served its first customers in the exact same spot where it stands today. From day one, weâve been commi
total rip off....total tourist trap...our food was marginal at best...something you could get in a frozen tv dinner....even worse my daughter and granddaughter begged us to bring them each a cup of lobster stew home.....$30 for two cups each having no more than a table spoon of lobster....the rest was milky lobster mush and cream....I almost drove back and demanded my money back....and we're just a couple of old hillbillies and never complain....good thing they have summer people to take from...best advice....drive right past this place.....shameful.....shameful.....
