Ted's was recommended by one of Jeffersonville's natives, so we have it a try for lunch. Never had Turkish gyros, just Greek, but found the original (lamb and beef) and the Chicken on pita were delicious. The service was great, the other customers, friendly. A truly homey restaurant.

Our annual trip to this place while at a nearby time share we once again got delicious home cooking. Earlier this week we ordered chicken cordon bu and the shrimp trio. The trio consisted of fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, and stuffed shrimp. All were terrific and included corn on the cob. Veggies, twice backed potato. Yum. Next trip we just ordered the butterflied shrimp.

Conveniently located right on Main Street in Jeffersonville, Tavern on Main is a warm and cozy community restaurant specializing in American fare that is both comforting and healthy.
Visiting the area. Found this tavern. Sat at the bar. They said they just changed the menu for the season. We tried the bacon-wrapped horseradish-stuffed shrimp and the roasted beet & port belly salad and seared scallops sliders. It was so good that we came in the next day to try the pulled pork egg rolls and the chili with cornbread! Very tasty menu and great happy hour pricing and drinks. If I lived in this area this would be my hands down choice restaurant.
A charming inn with a superb restaurant serving farm to table, haute cuisine in a rescued building, in which Rip Van Winkle would have felt at home, located in a tiny, zero traffic light hamlet that is so far off the beaten path that it truly merits the Michelin definition of a 2 star restaurant, in that it is worth going out of your way to eat there. The restaurant has long tables which are sectioned off by little bundling boards to accommodate each party. The kitchen is located in a long narrow building that, when renovated, was discovered to contain 2 preserved bowling alleys with hand set pins, built in 1868. So while waiting for dinner, you and a pin setting friend can bowl a few frames or sit at the chef's bar and watch him craft. The food was terrific. We had grilled peppers with ricotta for an appetizer [Blistered Shishito $8]. Scallops, sweet and tender with a flavorful crust. Beef perfectly pink with a black peppery crust - the green bean sides the best I've ever tasted. [Salsa Verde Bavette $32]. Finished with maple, plum custard so good you'll never accept a creme brullee as substitute.Because each meal is handmade, they can serve only a few diners at a time, so make a reservation and don't just drop by. We didn't stay at the inn, but the public room was charming and the stairs creaky with age. The restaurant has shiplap walls and the whole place is warm and inviting. Don't let the grim exterior of the building scare you away.
Stopped here on a friend's recommendation on our way up to the Baseball HOF induction ceremony. I've never heard of grilled romaine before, but it's delicious--as is the mac and cheese and other menu items. Very cool building, too--a renovated fire station. Owner charred all the timbers and sealed them before constructing. Awesome idea. Definitely worth a stop.
Newest restaurant in Callicoon which is becoming the place to go to in Sullivan County.Small town with shops and restaurants and wellness center and the only regular running movie theatre in Sullivan. But back to the Raleigh. They took over the spot which held Mathews on Main. Took them all summer to get it open. Summer is when you make your money in Callicoon. Changed the atmosphere to pub style instead of fine eat style. Not that the food isn't fine--it is--just the style is different. Took out the cushioned seats. Took down all the art work. Seemed to get rid of all the sound absorbing stuff.Place is noisey. BUT when we asked for the music to be turned down--they did it right away. Left it on in the bar area. They listen to their customers. Other good points---good service---friendly staff---tasty food. Why 3 stars instead of 4? Like I said food tasty but not great. You'll enjoy it but won't remember it. And the big thing is the big price. $16 for a hamburger!! A few years ago in Callicoon you could get a great hamburger with fries and a drink for $10 bucks.Got pushed up to $12 and some places are at $14. They are catering to the New York City crowd who have found our town. Of course, one of the finds was good food at a very fair price. Well we now have New York City prices. The Raleigh will do well.Still has a great bar area that was always crowded. But, I predict, the locals won't come in the winter. They won't pay these prices. As I write the review I would love to give them a 3 1/2 instead. Ok I'll push them up to a 4. I guess I shouldn't base my walllet against yours. I hear they plan entertainment. Good Luck

We were happy to see that The Western hotel and Restaurant has reopened, my husband and I had a delicious dinner. Food, atmosphere and service was perfect! The Grilled cheese starter was amazing, recommend splitting this one. My husband had the Hanger Steak and it melted in your mouth, I had the Salmon and loved it, not overcooked, perfect. We will be returning for sure!!

We enjoyed breakfast here so much we came a second time while staying in the area. Everyhting is local and fresh. And there is a beautiful view of the nearby river on the border with Pennsylvania. They are only open until 3pm but it is a great place for early or late breakfast as well as lunch or even an early dinner. Their pumpkin waffles are yummy and the French toast is delicious.Thank you for our fantastic first review.

This is a very old and outdated hotel. Hallways to the room smelled like garbage smell. You can smell Food Is more like a cafeteria food. Spent $250 a night for a room that felt like a cheap motel room. Would not recommend anyone to stay here.

Got an email from TripAdvisor. Asking me what's up? How's the family? And do I want to review any of these places. Well since we( wife and friends) are going to the Brewery tonight might as well talk about them. What can I say? We go a lot. Food, burgers etc, always good. Service always good. Atmosphere funky. So what's bad? Nothing.
