On a recent trip to the Texas Hill Country we stopped in for breakfast after reading some great reviews. We were not disappointed with our visit! Great service and fantastic breakfast with reasonable prices. Our waitress even gave us some free fresh baked chocolate chip cookies to take with us after breakfast! We had the 2 eggs breakfast and the omelette.

You'll find a few of these Storm's joints up and down this small stretch of Highway 281. It's fast food, but you can get a good burger and fries or fried okra and tasty ice cream for desert. If you're traveling in this area and want something quick, this is about as local as you can get. You've gotta try it at least once.

Family owned for almost thirty years, we strive to bring the freshest food possible to the table, with our own butcher on premises, and almost all of our food made from scratch, the buffet really feals like your at grandma's house on a Sunday afternoon. B

Finding this place can be little confusing it's inside the park, but Lady at park shed was cheery and gave excellent instructions to find in park. (If you eat there they wave the entrance fee) Veiw inside and out was beautiful. The sandwiches and salad were very good but our server was not around and kept forgetting things we ask for or should been severed w meal. In fact at end of meal we had to look for manager to get our check. Other then that it was worth the trip and will be back and even rent a cabin.Thank you for taking the time to review our Overlook Restaurant. I know our restaurant staff holds themselves to higher standards than what you've described, so I will be forwarding your comment along to our Executive Chef and Dining Room Supervisor. I hope you come to visit us again soon, the bluebonnets are in full bloom and the property is beautiful!

We are located in the Historic Town Square in Burnet, Texas. Built in the late 1890's, we have maintained a lot of the integrity of the original building by keeping the tin ceilings and using the original wood in some of our architectural renovations.
Friendly attentive waitress and good food characterized this cafe on the courthouse square. Nothing fancy, but hamburger, onion rings, fried mushrooms, everything we tried was good. The waitress balanced attention and service with respect for privacy.

My bf and I eat out on weekends when cruizin on our Harleys. Never disappointed. Love the grilled chicken breast sandwich and tuna melt. Cobblers great with BlueBell. Highly recommend. The only thing i have as anegative......i wish they had better parking for motorcycle riders.Dear Gina G,I certainly appreciate your positive comments about our desserts and Sandwiches. We make our cobblers fresh in house and are proud to top your favorite dessert with Blue Bell Ice Cream. We have quite a few Motorcycle riders especially since we are almost across the street from Burnet's Motor Heads Motorcycle Museum. Your statement about motorcycle parking has never been brought to my attention. Next time you're in the area please stop by and explain to me what is needed for better motorcycle parking. Thanks for your nice comments and we hope to see you again soon,Tom Hansen

I was heading thru town going past one appealing bbq joint after another from Brady to Burnet. Finally, the bbq gods made it happen with the perfect lunch timing, appropriate parking space and minimal wait line for service! The place was Bar-B-Q-Shak. This place has definitely been an evolution from take out place to one with seating. The service was fast and friendly and the brisket fantastical! They didn't have any pork bbq when I was there, so don't know if that would sway you against stopping.

I had chicken fried steak which was very good (not paper thin either) with homemade mac cheese and fried okra. Hubby had french dip with o rings which was very good. Hurried to finish our dinner as some musicians were warming up...guess the have live music here too. As they warmed up, the dining room became very loud and we are not fans of live music while we dine.

This restaurant has many opportunities for improvement and our experience was mixed. From the menu to outdoor seating, places like this typically get just one chance to wow visitors, and we left disappointed. The good: We very much enjoyed the customer service, quick ordering and speedy kitchen. Our order was accurate and hit our table hot and fast. When we asked for additional dipping sauce, the request was immediately filled. Fountain drinks were adequately bubbly. The burgers were ample and the serving size was plentiful. The not-so-good: Our issues centered primarily around cleanliness, and what appeared to be a lack of disorganization or preparation. We understand this is a straightforward, uncomplicated restaurant frequented by locals that grills burgers, but noted opportunities for improvement.â The breading on the fried pickles was not thoroughly cooked; tasted like sand.â Greasy, sticky floors. Is there a larger concern with facility/kitchen ventilation, or is it a lapse in cleaning oversight? Unsure.â Propane for the outdoor heaters would have been useful on a chilly day. Being told the propane had run out like we just needed to accept it was frustrating.â The employee-only side door directly across the swinging gate needs a dampener to stop the deafening crash that occurs whenever it opens and closes. Employees should be cognizant about customers on the patio.â Speaking of the patio layout, why do employees take their breaks at tables next to customers eating food? Somewhat inappropriate to be within earshot of bickering, complaining or details about what so-and-so is doing tonight.â Milkshakes missing from the menu? No fried mushrooms? Please consider adding and revamping.Overall, we chose this spot because of the outstanding reviews, but ultimately found food that did not impress. We may not return for a while, but look forward to the day we do. Cheers.
