Reviews on American food in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, United States. Brownsville is a borough in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, United States, first settled in 1785 as the site of a trading post a few years after the pacification of the Iroquois enabled a post-Revolutionary war resumption of westward migration. The Trading Post soon became a tavern and Inn, and was soon receiving emigrants heading west as it was located above the cut bank overlooking first ford that could be reached to those descending from the Mountains Brownsville is located 40 miles (64 km) south of Pittsburgh along the east bank of the Monongahela River.

Come enjoy fine homemade food, relaxed dining and the historical dcor of Speers Street Grill. In 1991, we opened our doors to the community and it has been our pleasure to serve you ever since. Our restaurant is personalized with your photos of the area,
We talk a few clients here for lunch the other day. Every dish we had was delicious. Burgers could feed a small family, as could most of the other dishes we ordered. All were delicious. Wait staff was friendly and fast. A real nice decor and layout also. Get there a little before noon, it fills up fast for lunch.
I have eaten here many times and always leave with mixed emotions. This Subway doesn't have spinach (or at least didn't last time I was there). What is that about? I have since started going next door to the Chinese restaurant.
Spuds has a great fries, burgers and more. If you're looking for a quick bite I'd say stop in. They have many options and flavor combinations to explore. Short review but it's a great little burger joint.

This was our first time at Lagerheads. Nice clean restaurant/bar. The restaurant is separated from the bar area which is nice. It was busy for a Wednesday evening. The waitress was very friendly & attentive. Nice menu selection. I had pizza & wings which were very good, husband & son had the burgers & fries which they said were also very good & friend had a fish sandwich that she liked. Wide range of age groups. Interior of the restaurant is well decorated .Definitely will return.
Located on the bottom floor of an old synagogue, the Food Bar Restaurant serves great home cooked food, including soups. Twice I stopped in for lunch and had the Rachel - Corned Beef or Turkey with Swiss Cheese topped with Sauerkraut & Thousand Island dressing served on toasted Marble Rye as well as the daily special roast beef sandwich with hand cut fries and gravy. Both were delicious. I also tried one of the desserts each time -most recently the best Boston cream pie I ever had. My friend had the vanilla coconut cake, a large piece full of flavor. He said it was reminiscent of what his mother made when he was a boy. He also had the Food Bar Burger - topped with Cheddar cheese, Hand Cut Fries, Cole Slaw served on a Toasted Kaiser Roll. If you have a sweet tooth, the desserts are wonderful and inexpensive. The Food Bar l features an all-day dessert and candy bar, with homemade cakes, pies, cookies, cake pops and other sweet treats. There are 10 different desserts every day. For $1.99, a customercan choose any dessert, which comes in a larger portion than usual. Fridays at 4, wings are offered at a special price and breakfast is served all day Sunday. You'll also find pizza on the menu, which I haven't tried. The hours of operation are Sunday 8am to 2pmTuesday - Thursday 7am to 3pmFriday 7am to 7pmSaturday 8am to 8pm
We have eaten at Pickers 4 times and every time has been great. The food is awesome. It is a bit small right now but there are plans for expansion. Iâve tried the Burgers,Cod,Flatbreads all have been excellent

My grandson, husband, and I stopped here for lunch. We're glad that we did! Portions were big. My grandson commented that the burger was so much better than at a fast food place he likes to go to. My husband had to bring about half of his burger home, it was so big. The chicken sandwich was just right for me. I had the opportunity to talk with the owner. He encouraged us to return sometime for dinner. We plan on doing that and soon.

Ryes is a very nice place to have a nice meal. I only ate there once when another local place was closed, but we will go back next time we are in town.

Made my first visit to Paciâs recently. The one item that hit all the notes for me was the ghost soup. If you like a little spice in your food this soup will not disappoint. It was extremely flavorful and creamy with just enough ghost pepper flavor to warmly tingle your tastebuds without being overpowering. I would come back for the soup alone.

WISH WE WOULD HAVE GONE ELSEWHERE. Food is overrated and too expensive for the poor quality, lackluster taste, and improperly prepared food we received. The wait staff is, to say the least, chaotic. Making it VERY obvious that they have never been properly trained on how to serve meals properly...cocktails, appetizers, soup, salads, entrees, desserts, after dinner drinks, etc...and, of course to make sure all parties are receiving these courses AT THE SAME TIME throughout the evening. Our relatively small party of 8 had one guest eating soup, one eating an appetizer and two eating their entrees and two being asked if they wanted desserts all at the same time...this is CHAOS and a total lack of organization and professionalism by a totally untrained wait staff. The so-called "Manager", whom by the way, has no control over of situation(s) arising in the restaurant, exhibited no leadership ability, knowledge or professionalism on how to run a restaurant, which was evident in the gross mishandling of nearly every aspect of the of the evening. These things may have been overlooked if the food was delicious enough to compensate for the disastrous service but, it just wasn't even close. We won't be back. Our business executives won't be back. And, we certainly won't recommend this restaurant to family, friends, or other associates.
