Find out what American restaurants to try in Broadstairs. Broadstairs is a coastal town on the Isle of Thanet in the Thanet district of east Kent, England, about 80 miles (130 km) east of London. It is part of the civil parish of Broadstairs and St Peter's, which includes St Peter's, and had a population in 2011 of about 25,000. Situated between Margate and Ramsgate, Broadstairs is one of Thanet's seaside resorts, known as the "jewel in Thanet's crown". The town's crest's Latin motto is Stella Maris ("Star of the Sea"). The name derives from a former flight of steps in the chalk cliff, which led from the sands up to the 11th-century shrine of St Mary on the cliff's summit.

Weâve been here several times, food is always lovely and reasonably priced, with friendly and helpful waiting staff.Atmosphere varies according to how busy it is, but today we were the only ones there (very early evening) and still had a great time.

We visited raindells during the evening, the restaurant was half full on arrival. We were shown to our table and then waited 15 minutes for a waitress to ask if we wanted drinks. When placing the drinks order we also ordered our meals( just main courses). The drinks then took another 20 minutes to arrive, by this time we had been there for over 30 minutes. The restaurant was now full, and we noticed that customers who had come in after us where receiving their main meals. Ours was delivered 1 hour after we had arrived(2 burgers and chips). The food was ok but not worth this long wait. The finished plates were removed in good time and we were asked if we would like a dessert and said we would and would like to look at the menu. 20 minutes later the waitress hadnât returned so we paid and left. In total we had been there for 1hr 45mins. I m unable to recommend this restaurant, itâs such a shame as the menu is good, but wonât be returning.

On a wet, wintry and windy night I Kent, we ended up at the Westwood Shopping Centre, looking for somewhere to eat - and chips were off the menu!We drove round, and saw the Pizza Hut, and decided that fitted the bill. My wife only eats small portions since her stomach op, and we thought we could find some menu item here to suit.We were greeted immediately on arrival by a smiling, friendly face. A group of parents and children were the only customers at the time, and were being "enthusiastic" but not overly noisy. Our hostess saw that we were in our 70's and, without being asked, directed us to a good table a little way away from that group. She was very open and helpful, and made positive suggestions about the menu choices that would be good for my wife. I also need gluten free, so expected to find something I could have.Service was swift, the food excellent, and the server attentive. The free salad bar and choice of desserts was also good, and easy to access.The whole experience, especially the attentive and helpful waitress, (receipt says her name was Deborash P), turned a wet and miserable night into a successful evening.Many thanks
