A Northwest favorite since 1960. Our 25 locally owned Elmer's Restaurants take pride in their communities and source local, farm-fresh ingredients.
Steaming hot coffee with a Dutch baby with berry topping is a wonderful way to start off the weekend! We each sat in view of the warm fireplace on a cool temperature day. The contrast was delightful. The booths for seating were comfortable and the atmosphere was quiet.Service was attentive and friendly.Elmerâs is consistently tasty and the comfy atmosphere makes a combination that keeps us coming back!Morning Judy,We truly thank you for your feedback and are glad to see you've enjoyed your visits to Elmerâs. We love hearing from our Guests and we send each review directly to the restaurant management to be seen. We stumbled across this nugget courtesy trip advisor. The food was decent, but the amazing wooden architecture of this place puts you straight in the mindset of being in a mountain lodge and frankly the food could have been average and we would still have thought it was great. The staff were on good form, and the overall impression was that this place deserves a higher rating than it currently enjoys on TA. Get in there already!

We were impressed with the way this restaurant has maintained the interior with the lovely wood-framed doors that open up the back wall overlooking the river. When we arrived at 5:20 PM, all but three of the front parking spaces were taken, as were all of the tables in the dining room along the back window. We took a table in the next row. Our server, Dallas, was friendly and efficient as was the young woman bussing the tables. We were pleasantly surprised by the âextrasâ including a pickle tray, and hot rolls with butter that kept us busy while we waited for our dinner salads that came with the chicken Dumplinâ and beer-battered prawn dinners that we ordered. I had a glass of Malbec, too, and for all that the total bill was very reasonable. Everything looked and tasted great and we couldnât finish our entrees, much less try a dessert! This local restaurant was a real treat!

We enjoyed the 4 course tasting menu. It was interesting and diverse. The courses were generous in their servings. The waiter we had was a long-time professional server who made the experience fun and special. We saw other diners order the table-side prepared bananas foster, which was entertaining to watch. The location is really beautiful on the edge of the Sandy River. The dining room is pretty large, and even so the tables were a bit close together. Although in our case most of them were not occupied, because we chose an off night. But the waiter had a difficult time moving the bananas foster cart through the area. The dining chairs leave a little to be desired in the comfort arena. They aren't the worst I've had, but not super comfy for a long dinner. There is a grand piano with an auto-play feature that adds to ambiance. All-in-all it was a really enjoyable evening.

Stopped while waiting for the weather to clear along the gorge. Excellent food. I enjoyed a great burger for lunch, because the aroma was really inviting from the lot. It was completely decorated for Halloween. Really very inviting. My waitress was very accomidating. Stop by!

Nice casual restaurant. Food is usually pretty good, but a few of the portions could be a little larger. The BBQ brisket is very tender and tasty. I really enjoy it because it doesn't taste overly smoky. Prices are reasonable and the service is good. Definitely recommend.

Serving amazing breakfast and lunch all day, everyday! We have great specials and even better bloody mary's. We host private parties at night. Seasonal Patio Seating and a kid's play area. Recently remodeled.
Had a vegan breakfast which tasted pretty good & food was warm when it arrived. Husband enjoyed his biscuit & gravy breakfast too. Only one complaint (his); their coffee is very weak. He carries extra Starbucks packets for necessary 'rescue' missions. Sweet Betty's staff are always friendly and attentive; another plus that's unusual in a 'diner.'

Went here for my sons birthday, been back a number of times. Food is fantastic. Lots of different choices and something for everyone in the family. Lots of different choices. Love the atmosphere. We usually try to sit outside and enjoy watching people walk up and down Main St. Waitresses have all been extremely nice and friendly.
We moved in the neighborhood of this place 5 years ago. When you live 15 minutes from a grocery store or fast food you are desperate to find something close. The Barton Store satisfies almost all last minute shopping needs, except Produce and Meat. Almost everything else you can get when you are in a pinch. Our ABSOLUTE Favorite is the Chicken Strip Basket. 3-4 Huge Fresh and Juicy Chicken Strips plus jojos. Totally fills you up and doesn't even compare to fast food anywhere. We rank it up better than most restaurant chicken strips. Also their fried chicken is fresh breaded and fried every day. Delicious! Plus tons of other fresh deli items, fresh made sandwiches, hamburgers, you name it they probably have it. Their cold drink selection is the largest anywhere you can find. Plus, Sandy Oregons famous Joe's donuts, are brought in everyday, if there are any left for you!!The old county charm of this place will bring you back time and time again
