Although the name suggests otherwise, the Blue Mountains is an actual town in Grey County that consists of several small communities including Thornbury, Christie Beach, Clarksburg, Heathcote and Ravenna. The area is very picturesque and scenic in the summer months and during "apple season" in the autumn, but the town is most famous for its mountains. Tourists flock to Intrawest's Blue Mountain Ski Resort year-round for its wide array of offerings. If you aren't in the mood for skiing or snowboarding, take a stroll through Blue Mountain Village and enjoy a coffee at one of the cafes or a meal in one of the many restaurants located in the village.

A Family friendly restaurant serving fresh and local foods. Focusing on southern comfort food, Grilled Jalapenos, Shrimp, Mussels Southern fried Chicken and Texas Chili. Our meat is slow cooked on the grill from out giant beef ribs, to burgers, chicken an
A dinner with friends on a Friday night, not too busy, we were able to be seated straight away.We ordered the Meaford Home Style burger ($16.00) cooked medium, which comes dressed with sauteed mushrooms, smoked cheddar, a house-made tomato jam on a sourdough bun. Served with fries.Burger arrives, cooked a fair bit beyond medium and its a monster. There is no WAY you're getting this in your mouth without wearing the tomato jam from now until Sunday. Cut in half, still a challenge. My bun had spent a few minutes too long under the broiler as it had been overcooked, then scraped off. I tossed it aside and went in with a knife and fork. The jam is tasty which is more than I could say for the burger. Beef is nice, but nothing special. Fries were underwhelming. Disappointed. My wife had the deep fried southern chicken ($14.00), expecting fried chicken, on the bone, but were served more like chicken fingers or tenders. These too had run out the clock on the cook time. Disappointing. Our big surprise was the wine - a glass of Cab-Merlot that was, well, warm. Quite warm.Beyond room-temp warm in fact. When we asked, our server admitted the wine had been stored right beside the coffee burner. Oops. It was moved, we heard ice being put in a bucket, but who stores the wine next to the coffee? The Red Door has a lot going for it, a cute decor in a small town with limited mid-priced eats. Fast and friendly service, loads of potential. Sadly, they missed the mark the night we were there. Two mains, one glass of wine was $44.07 taxes in.

The quickest way to après is at Rusty's at Blue. Our sunny patio boasts the most picturesque view of the mountain.
Pub style restaurantService was excellent but that’s where it endsLarge selection of barbecue. The Beef brisket platter was a average barbecued beef with overdone barbecue sauce to cover the fatty meat.Small order of fries that were goodA skillet with Mac and cheese. You would think they would fill the skillet cover it with cheese and bake in oven, instead you get like warm macaroni that reminded me of Kraft dinner white sauce version without any flavour.Really disappointed.Kids menu lots of fried food.Barbecue rib platter was better but same side orders of Mac and cheese and a poor version of vinegar coleslawProperly a hot spot at night as a pub

Quality Food Trailer. Best Burgers in Town. We offer vegetation options daily.
Being from North Carolina, we wanted real poutine during our Canadian adventure. While we were camping at Craigleith Park, the locals told us to try “the chip truck by the car wash on the edge of town.” I’m so glad we drove there, everything was fresh and delicious. My husband had the rib special with fresh veggies and slaw and I had a burger that I will dream of. AND the poutine (hand cut fries with cheese curds, gravy, and malt vinegar) was the best I’ve ever had!

Thornbury's "cornerstone" is freshened up, but like a few spots in town I feel they've missed the mark on providing something generous in portion, innovative in flavour and served with a spirit of hospitality. It fell short on all three accounts for us, again more of a drinking establishment than a must try place to eat.

This place is amazing, the food is fantastic, the atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff made you feel like you are part of the family. We eat out quite a bit and very few times does a manager come out and make sure that everything is okay. Sandy m
If you appreciate good food quality, friendly service and casual live music, this mountain base lodge is NOT your typical Village Money-Pit.High ceilings and a beautiful mountain view add to the lodge character.I thoroughly enjoyed the thick beef burger at lunch. We were back for a tasty steak and ceaser salad at dinner.Local Beverages on tap to boot.Super friendly service makes for a nice dining experience.Manager was on site and engaging with guests.I'll be back!

This was a nice restaurant, nice decor, ambiance with a decent menu. We happened to be there on a not too busy night. The food was fine but not outstanding. Considering the prices charged, I expected the presentation and refinement to be of a higher calibre. I have experienced nicer plating and better offering at similar prices in larger cities. Had the steak with not much veggies. I would not return at these prices.

Proudly serving The Best Fish and Chips in Grey / Bruce / Simcoe Counties. Crispy, Light Batter and Hand Cut Fries: Add a Little Salt and Malt and Your All Set! Sail Restaurant and Catering Co. - "You've Just Gotta Try It!"
Meaford is a small town on the southern shore of Georgian Bay. It's west of Thornbury and Collingwood, Ontario, and, between the downtown, its theatre and waterfront, it has a charm of its own. Part of that charm is the “Sail” restaurant at 108 North Sykes Street, which is at the west end of the downtown area.Sail used to be a popular fish-and-chips restaurant called Captain's Corner. We used to go there. Then the Captain's Corner name disappeared at that corner location and Sail started its voyage of serving people fish-and-chips and other menu items.Sail continues as a cosy place, with tables and chairs on one level, just inside a very large picture window at the front of the restaurant. There's a wood stove in the dining area and the kitchen area is tucked away, pretty much out of sight, behind the reception counter area.Four of us were going to see a Zac Brown tribute band called Chicken Fried at the beautiful Meaford hall, a refurbished theatre. We enjoyed Chicken Fried, but before that show we enjoyed our meals at Sail.I had called a week ahead of time to make a reservation for us. The fellow who answered the phone, named Ryan, assured me that I wouldn't need a reservation. When we entered Sail, I immediately asked for Ryan and confirmed that I had called. The reservation was not necessary, but the dining area did start to fill as we were eating our meals.A cheerful server, Denise, (Hey! It's a small town!) looked after our drinks and then our orders. She buzzed back to check on how we liked our dinners. We assured her that all was fine, including the wine one member of our group ordered.I had the Alaska whitefish, two pieces, with sweet potato fries. That was on special for $15.99. Others in our group enjoyed the same thing, or haddock with fries. We were all pleased with our dinners and the service. While there, we discovered that Ryan Follis, the owner, has at least four food-related ventures under his culinary apron. Sail restaurant is one enterprise. Sail restaurant and food truck is another. Just Like Home Cafe is an enterprise in nearby Owen Sound and Intimate Fare Catering “for the love of food” in Grey and Bruce counties is a fourth venture.Ryan wasn't shy in promoting his upcoming culinary Intimate Fare dinner series. He gave us sheets of paper on which are the details of upcoming special dinners, special five-course dinners on Thursday evenings through February 2019. Best to check with Sail for details, but I can assure you from looking at the Intimate Fare menus that these dinners (at $130.00 each event, per couple, plus applicable taxes) will be special. Special enough, I think, to consider the February 14th event as a Valentine's outing.Don't let the old-building-on-the-corner look fool you when it comes to Sail. It's clear that Sail restaurant is upping the level of culinary arts in Meaford and area and is more than a fish-and-chip shop. Although their fish-and-chips are worth the stop in Meaford. Earlier this week, Sail celebrated its second anniversary of serving customers at this downtown corner.Wow.. All I can Say is Wow!Thank you So much for your kind, wonderful, insightful review... We really do LOVE what We are doing here at SAIL, and Hope that each and every customer through Our door has a similar experience to yours.I will pass you kind review along to the team. They truly are the backbone of this establishment.Heart and Soul - "All In"I look forward to serving you again.Thank youRyan

Been to the Village many times but this was my first visit to Twist. Ordered Hemingway daiquiri and shared the cheese board. Both excellent. Drinks are pricey but their happy hour drinks give a nice alternative. Will come back again!

Great location in the middle of Blue Mountain & good service ... but ... pricey with disappointing food. Daughters pasta with marinara sauce had a whole tinned tomato in the dish - no one could be bothered to chop it into the marina sauce apparently. My Aranccini (rice balls) were weirdly sweet - like they had added sugar to the rice. Carrot Sticks served with the kids chicken fingers were dry & curled like they had been sitting in the fridge for a few days ... and no one bothered to ask if we were happy with our meal. On the plus side ... Husbands burger was decent and the beet salad was nice. I get it ... it’s an awesome spot & most clients are tourists, so no need to gain loyal customers or serve fabulous food in order to keep the doors open ... but this felt like nobody cared about the quality of what they were serving & that they are happy to charge crazy prices for substandard fare. Lunch for a family of 4 cost $140.My opinion - it’s an overpriced tourist trap ... try Firehall pizza instead ... or just order a $20 glass of cheap wine, enjoy the view and skip the menu.Hello JujeGWI hope I dont come across as argumentative but a few quick points to rebut some of your assumptions-I am sorry your daughter got a full tomato, I would have hoped it obvious that we missed it while making the sauce not that youd assume someone didnt chop it up. We use whole tomatoes as they maximize flavour and freshness in the sauce. -I would guess the sweet taste on your arancicini was the balsamic glaze we drizzle on top, I do apologize for you not enjoying the flavour combination-nobody checking on your meal is a definite service miss on out part and I am truly sorry, Absolutely your server should have asked, but our management also tries to speak to as many guests as possible as we find when there is an issue we can resolve it immediately.I do take personal offence to your insinuation that we dont care. I have been in the restaurant business in the Collingwood area for almost 30 years, 17 in the Village and very much consider it my home. My kids use the attractions, we ski, bike, and hike on the hill and then enjoy the Village almost everyday. I promise you I care, and so do the people I work with. I apologize you felt like you didnt receive value on your visit, we dont have a $20 glass of wine as a side note, but I promise you had you mentioned it to the manager on duty we would have gone to great lengths to make you know we care about each and every one of our guests.I am thrilled you enjoyed the burger and beet salad, and the view, it is a magical people watching patio! I hope you give us a chance to show you how much we do actually care, but either way were glad you continue to enjoy ther village as much as we do!

I had the chefs special, spicy Salmon with Vegetables. The spice was a surprise! The veg was cooked perfectly. The wife had Chicken Piccata with Veg and Gnocchis. She said all was Good. Simple decor but pleasant.
