The food was absolutely excellent! Wonderful soup with a great family atmosphere. The size of the portions were huge! Let's just say maybe they need to reassess their staff. Some of the waitresses really needed a tad bit of an attitude adjustment

Hossâs Steak and Sea House is a family restaurant featuring fresh-cut steaks, seafood, and tender chicken entreesâ¦all cooked to order!Enjoy our fresh and wholesome Soup & Salad Bar with homemade soups, just-baked breads, fresh fruits, delicious desserts,
Local steak/seafood chain, visited traveling to and returning from N.Y. Friendly staff, efficient and attentive. Had salad bar and burger for lunch, good value, soups on salad bar were very good. Return trip a few days later (Sunday evening) was not as good, they were out of my first two entree choices. Third choice (Clever cut) was tough and not very favorful, salad bar was same as for lunch a few days earlier but with different soups. Would stop again if in the area.

The sandwiches at the Foster House are the best in the area. They are better than famed Primanti Brothers. My favorite is the King Chicken.

Lunch and Teas: Wed. - Sat. 11am to 3pm. Parties, Showers, High Victorian Teas, Lite Teas and Princess Birthday Parties by Reservation.Voted Best Restaurant by Tribune's Readers Choice Awards
I went to the Serendipity Tea room with three friends today. It was a wonderful experience. Three of us had the Lite Tea choice & one just ordered separate food items. The scones were fantastic, two of us had apricot & one had the cranberry one. All of us had the chicken salad on a croissant & it was delicious. The walnut cranberry salads were very good with a pomegranate dressing. I had the turtle brownie with vanilla ice cream, one had the cheese cake & two had the carrot cake. All were fabulous. Everything is made fresh. The interior is lovely. It was a wonderful experience. Our server was friendly & attentive & was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. We all had a fabulous time. I will definitely be going back. Its been so long since I have been on this site and missed your wonderful review. Thank you for coming to the tea room! We are so happy you had a great time. Hope to see you again!

Went to lunch with a friend. The pizza dough and toppings are ALWAYS very good. The gyro salad is some sort of processed lamb and NOT the real deal. Good service today from an A+ waitress named Kaylyn. Good service today. Prompt service has always been somewhat hit or miss.

I posted much earlier on this restaurant and was truly impressed...and am even happier to say that the Barbes are getting even BETTER with time and experience. This rivals any southern rib/brisket shack! That's a real compliment! We have been going since they opened and can see that the service and attention to detail gets even better with time. We now have another prime choice of places to eat in Charleroi. I love that we have a variety of choices now. All of our friends love this BBQ joint, too. Not fancy-just good! Fine for take-out, kids, and now with the addition of a ramp, handicapped folks. Have not had a bad thing on the menu...but I'd love for some real mayo southern slaw with Duke's Mayo. Everything is yummy, folks. From dryrub to super saucy, it's finger lickin' good. Or as the real down home boys say, "It's so good it'll make you smack your Momma!" Natalie & Dan K.

I have been here several times and have yet to be disappointed. This time I tried the ahi tuna and was more than pleased with the dish. The tuna was cooked to medium rare perfection. The cream sauce with wilted spinach was for me a great compliment to the fish. The sides of mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus were equally satisfying. Service was prompt and friendly as usual.

My husband and I had an early dinner here on a Tuesday night. It was almost empty. We started with mussels, supposed to be a pound, but didn't seem like it. They were tasty. We also got potato soup, watery and bland. I had the salmon dinner with salad and sweet potato fries. Salad was not fresh.Lettuce was brown and wilted, also cucumbers. Sweet potato fries were burnt. Salmon was ok, but quite small for a dinner portion. Husband got the antipasto salad, would have been good, but it was drenched in the dressing. Food was Definitely Overpriced for the quality. Also overcharged for the salmon?Vicky ... I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment in the food quality of your dinners. I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised to hear this but regardless will speak to my manager and kitchen staff that were on that night. Our salads are a huge seller for us and are made fresh to order. We turn over our product so fast that we shouldn't have any wilting or browning (same with the cucumbers), but perhaps there were a few brown pieces in the new mix that my salad person didn't see it. The mussels are pre-weighed at a pound and portioned on a scale by our chef. I suppose it may be hard to judge by the eye. The salmon that we purchase is a high quality piece of fish and we are addressing the size with our vendor. Like you, we have noticed some of the salmon sizes are smaller than others. I assure you that I will bring your comments to my staff and also, talk to your waitress. We hope that you will come back and try us again and please don't hesitate to bring your concerns up with our waitstaff or my manager. We would like the opportunity to fix anything that you're not happy with. All my best and thank you for bringing this to my attention.

The Back Porch Restaurant has been loved by guests for over 40 years. Our handcrafted historic home, built in the year 1806, surrounds guests with casual elegance, warmth and charm. We have been consistently ranked by offering the best steaks, best desser
My spouse took me here for my birthday. The restaurant is in a old mansion that has been refurbished--very nice setting for a good meal. The waiter was very attentive (actually there were two working our section). I ordered their Cajun salmon soup (very good) and pear and walnut salad (excellent) as appetizers. My main course was the citrus chicken: very moist with a moderate citrusy taste. The garlic finger potatoes were excellent and the candied carrots were outstanding (only complaint: wish they put more on the plate!). For desert, I had coffee and the red velvet cake with buttercream icing. The cake didn't have a lot of flavor--nor did the icing. Not too impressed with that. Overall, I would highly recommend the Back Porch and we'll definitely be returning. Admittedly it's a little pricey--but the setting, service and great food are worth the price.

Come enjoy fine homemade food, relaxed dining and the historical dcor of Speers Street Grill. In 1991, we opened our doors to the community and it has been our pleasure to serve you ever since. Our restaurant is personalized with your photos of the area,
We talk a few clients here for lunch the other day. Every dish we had was delicious. Burgers could feed a small family, as could most of the other dishes we ordered. All were delicious. Wait staff was friendly and fast. A real nice decor and layout also. Get there a little before noon, it fills up fast for lunch.
