Went on Saturday night. Seated right away. No wine list - more like a "red or white" choice. Wife got a merlot that was easily weeks old. Menu looked good but was not executed well. Very bland and over cooked. Ask for steak sauce. Great service and manager came over to chat. Food needs major upgrade

January 18 2019 -POINT - $270 / 2 persons dinner and cocktails only. Well aware of the costs for exquisite culinary meals, which we hoped for based on TA reviews. We drove 45 minutes each way, on winding small snow covered roads to support our local businesses perched in the middle of the forest. Try it If you like well appointed space, great service staff but do not really care about gourmet meals. This resort has customers from the areas of NYC, whom are one of the toughest group of experienced travelers to please. - POINT - We drank a few cocktails first which opens up your taste sensors to be more favorable towards food. -POINT - they can make average tasting food look appetizing and most of ours we could not swallow. - POINT - The staff ready and willing to replace your selection. -POINT - A place like this should offer table side Cesar Salad or learn how to make one. They served a Cesar salad mutant. My Signature Lamb, arrived raw. Oh sure I sent it back but it returned from just as raw and now slathered with a dark sweet sauce. After one bite it was so strong in flavor I could not swallow another bite. Lamb rib meat should be mild. I declined it and took home a replacement. They offer more food while we waited, at that point we lost faith in their culinary abilities. Some of the over priced drinks were not so tasty, and replaced with a smile. They screwed up a bloody mary, tasted metallic. We do not like complaining it puts a "downer" on the evening. We had fun we got full on average tasting foods, but that could have been done at a average joe's place. It is very probable the focus is on the Spa. We will continue to try new local restaurants in the area.

Filet mignon was good. I was expecting more flavors from the sauce and steak. Appetizers were good but not outstanding.Thank you for sharing your feedback. Love and LightPeter
A few years ago, the Rainbow Diner burned to the ground in Barryville. Since Barryville is TINY, in rural SW Sullivan county along the Delaware river in the Catskills, it was sad. It's a family place with a lot of regular customers. They rebuilt, though, and are back as the Town Diner. I've eaten there three times now, and I will not return. The food is marginally acceptable, but if it were only mediocre eggs or toast I wouldn't be so irritated. There are other issues dragging this place much further down than it needs to be. My first issue is with the interior of the restaurant. It's sterile and cramped. Despite their previous best efforts, it is always hot as hell inside. When they reopened, I was hopeful that their architect would have found a way to maximize air flow and minimize the stagnation that pools the hot air coming from the flattop. Nope. Inside, today, on a 70-degree day with a breeze and all the windows and doors open, sitting literally six inches from an open window, it was warm enough to sweat. Bottom line, it is unpleasant sitting inside. My second issue is with the prices. I paid $7.95 for corned beef hash and two eggs with toast. I asked if the meal came with potatoes. I was told yes. When my food came, I did a doubletake. There were 17 pieces of potato slivered on my plate. Not chunks, not pieces, but thinly sliced slivers. If I had moved every piece of potato into a measuring cup, it would have been about 1/4 of a cup. They tasted fine, but the portion was beyond scant. It was shocking. My hash was unremarkable. Two cups of coffee both included a half teaspoonful of grounds. Prices were high for diner food in a rural area. They were high before but they are higher now, and considering the other diner in town, Clancy's, also serves corned beef hash with two eggs and potatoes and toast, but for $5.95, they need to do better for another two dollars. Prices were high across the board for breakfast and lunch items. My third issue is with the speed with which orders are filled. The guy at the flattop simply does not know how to hustle. I sat watching in front of him today. Other times I have been there for breakfast at non-peak times and waited twenty minutes for eggs. Today I watched him cook and he needs help. He doesn't rush, which is okay if you're moving efficiently, but when I watched him pour pancake batter on the flattop, he poured it out of a deli container. At most diners, when you have a limited breakfast menu (which they do), you put large tubs of stuff you use a lot, like batter, in front of you with a measured dipper or scoop. Two or three orders of pancakes empties this container, and then the guy has to stop, discard the empty container, find more batter, open the container and pour it, put the container back and cover it. He also needs to eyeball each pancake because he is freehandedly pouring each one from the container rather than using a scoop that is already correctly portioned. Every second you can shave from a repeated task is important in this kind of business. There were twenty of these little time-sucking things I witnessed in the few minutes I watched, and believe me, if you've spent the night camping and the morning rafting or canoing and you are starving and want breakfast, waiting an extra five minutes when it's not necessary is frustrating. So, hot, expensive and inefficient, and the food is not more than marginal. You can do better for breakfast or lunch in town, at Clancy's, there are other full service restaurants for lunch in Barryville such as the River House and Baker's Tap Room, and there are other diners within a five or six minute drive in Eldred, Yulan and in Lackawaxen.

This was our second trip to Cedar Rapids and we had a great time. Im glad they have reopened and will visit again for Labor day in 2015. This is a inexpensive campground that allows its guest the freedom to enjoy nature with their friends and family.

Tired and hungry, this place was just what we needed, having checked out the rest of Barryville.....We sat outside, and I ordered the Hungarian pork, with all the trimmin's. It was excellent. She ordered fish and chips, which passed but did not hit the excellence level. But the waitress was charmingly chatty, and the people coming out to go home all looked happy. We enjoyed sitting outside and listening to their mix tape, mostly 70's tunes.

The food was incredible! I had the shrimp stuffed mushrooms...they were the best Iâve ever had! Service was a little slow but we were there to celebrate a friendâs birthday..

We've been vacationing in this area for years. Always loved Bakers. Was happy to see it open again a few years back. The place is better than ever. Great menu and specials. All our dinners were delicious. Great service too. Place has a great bae, with many beer choices. Look forward to going "Back to Bakers" every time we're in the area!

Heard the wings were fantastic here and was not disappointed visiting with my son on a Friday evening. Tried to come during the summer but couldnât even get into the parking lot they were so busy. About a dozen different selections to choose from along with many beers on tap. Lots of sports on different screens. Overall a nice Friendly place. We must have witnessed a dozen people stopping in to pick up take out. check out a full menu on Facebook.
