We stopped here for dinner after the Polar Express train ride show. The fish and chips were bland and both were way overcooked. The grilled cheese sandwich was more like burned cheese and the fries were overcooked. The cheese steak sandwich had a nice bun and tasty meat but there was not enough of the meat for the price. The onion rings were OK.The best part was the place itself. Great small town Washington ambiance.

There aren't a lot of options in this area, and this was closest to where we were staying. It is basically a sports bar. Not sure about the steakhouse claim. There were only 2 servers for the bar AND restaurant area. When we arrived, it wasn't too crowded, but still took a while for our order to be taken. Then, as it got closer to dinner, it got very crowded and the poor servers just couldn't keep up. I don't blame them for the slow service, as they were doing the best they could. There appeared to be 2 cooks, but one left for about 30 minutes, so that didn't help matters much either. We ordered pizza and it was just 'ok'. We each ordered a different soft drink and were told they were out of both kinds. At first she said, "we don't have that" and I said it was on the menu. Then she amended it to they were out of it. Apparently, they have been out of it for a while! Our server never came back over to see if we wanted any beverage refills (we did). We were in the area for another nite, but opted not to return here again.

This place has a great location in the park. Itâs old so a little tired. But thatâs part of the charm. A poor welcome with a curt , nothings ready until 4pm. Seems itâs run to suit management, rather than guests. No tv , no WiFi Now letâs be fair , we are in the middle of nowhere. And getting away from it all can be good. Rooms and beds are on small side. After all 100 years ago they didnât supersize ! Shower lots of hot water. So not a modern experience , but not one we thought delivered old fashioned service either ! Ps 4am false fire alarm with no apologies or effort to say sorry , poor. A note under door explaining why and a sorry wouldâve helped. But as I said, not the most guest centric place

So the dining room is the traditional big wood beamed, logging camp length area. A few of the right tables can see the mountain, weather and daylight permitting. The menu has good variety at traditional (high) national park prices. Service hit or miss depending on the wait staff. Serves all three meals. Breakfast buffet is expansive, with something for everybody. There is an alternative in the visitor center, where we got pizza and sandwiches one evening.
