This is one of the nicest fish fry I have had in a long time. The breading was really light and fish was nice and fresh.

Friday night our group purchased multiple pizzas from J.J.s and they were delicious! On Saturday we took a ride over to the restaurant for lunch. I was ready for a White Fish dinner when I was told (and I read), that dinners are only served after 3 p.m. I was really bummed. I had a chicken Cesar salad instead which was not exciting. Two in our party had the Hoagies. They are huge so I definitely recommend ordering a half. They are made on delicious homemade bread. Most of our group ordered burgers and everyone loved them. The staff was helpful and courteous.

Since we frequently vacation in Alpena, we decided to try a different restaurant each time we are in Alpena. This place did not disappoint. It's a great little, place for lunch. I loved the variety of sandwiches to choose from and the side dishes that were part of the meal deal were delicious. The owners were very friendly. Loved that everything was super fresh and homemade. There is limited seating. Will definitely be back.

I've had different items for breakfast at Gen Ar's and all have been good. Definately try the "Daily Specials".

We had breakfast there today.it was around 10 am. It was fairly quiet. Our server was helpful and friendly.we both had a breakfast for under 5 dollars plus coffee which was a really nice coffee. An enjoyable diner to eat at. My only complaint was the lids of the salt and pepper shaker. Plus the sugar shaker werenât clean.

This was a great experience. There was excellent service, delicious food and overall great atmosphere. This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. It's a shame I haven't come here in a while, hope to come back soon.

The Fresh Palate should certainly be the number 1 restaurant in Alpena, and could make the cut in any city in the country. Their fresh ingredients paired with masterful preparation and seasoning makes the food delicious, presented in a setting that is fresh, modern, and beautiful. We have lived in all parts of the country and dined in many high end, exquisite restaurants. Fresh Palate will not break the bank (itâs ridiculously reasonably priced) but will satisfy every taste. We found ourselves in Alpena quite by accident this week. We now have a reason to return.

This place has a very interesting variety of brats. We have tried many different combinations and served them to family and friends with very happy diners!! Every one of the comments were positive. If you are grilling, Nowicki's is the place to get the best brat's. They even serve them in house for lunch. Highly recommend them!!

Microbrewery and full service brewpub featuring Austin Brothers' beer and a rotating seasonal pub food menu.
Went to restaurant yesterday to meet with business associates of my husbands. First, let me say our server was fabulous. Attentive without being invasive. Helpful on recommendations. Very upbeat. Rest of my party enjoyed their food. I did not. Iâve been here before but it was a while ago. I really enjoyed my food back then. I am not an adventurous eater. I literally could only find 1 item that I thought I would eat. Everything had some type of spice or twist as if they are trying so hard to make every dish so different they forgot about the rest of us. I ordered the burger. It was quite big and the bun was really greasy. Kept sliding out of my hands with every bite. I took couple bits and just couldnât have anymore. I tried the fries. Again, I donât see what is wrong with plane French fries. The garlic mayo was fine. Again, they donât have regular mayo. Ketchup is homemade. It was ok. I will not be back until menu changes again.

Restaurant serving made from scratch dishes. Fresh seafood, steaks, italian, pizza and burgers
We ate here one Thursday evening based on Trip Advisor ratings. It was very busy but we were able to be seated quickly. The service was ok. The food was outstanding. We both had tuna steak (two different recipes). Both were outstanding. We were on the road nine days and this was by far our best meat. Would definitely eat here again
