Almere (Dutch pronunciation: [ɑlˈmeːrə] ( listen)) is a planned city and municipality in the province of Flevoland, Netherlands, bordering Lelystad and Zeewolde. The municipality of Almere comprises six official areas that are the districts of Almere Stad (which is further split up into Almere Stad Oost, Almere Stad West and Almere Centrum), Almere Buiten and Almere Pampus (which is currently being designed), and the boroughs of Almere Haven, Almere Hout and Almere Poort. Four of them feature official district or borough offices. Furthermore, it also comprises the unofficial historic district and neighborhood Oostvaardersdiep, which has an active semi-self-governing community, and the planned district of Almere Oosterwold. Almere is part of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (MRA).

We had a pleasant lunch with various salads, butter baked flounder done the Dutch way to perfection (2 slip tongetjes) and coquette balls ( 8 bitterballen) with Dutch mustard. We had several baguettes with various cheeses, the bread was double baked.Our server was helpful and pleasant and went out of his way to make us comfortable, excellent English was spoken by all the staff at the restaurant.The prices were very reasonable for the quality and the quantity of the delicious bar type food served. The smell of grease (oud vet) when we entered the restaurant should have been enough to send us away however we were hungry and sat down, mistake.Start to finish we waited for each serving and staff. The food was covered in a terrible BBQ sauce. All in all one of the worst restaurants in Almere I have ever eaten in.

Tipical american diner with hamburgers . It looks as the real thing but the food is more on the dutch side so don't expect the breakfast with beans,eggs, baked potato's + the free refills. Still a nice experience to feel the atmosphere of the real thing.
