There are two Gallagher Restaurants, one in Covington and one in Mandeville. So if you make reservations be sure you confirm the location. The one in Mandeville named 527 was hard to find next to a strip mall. The important thing of course was the service and food. Excellent on both counts from the shrimp remoulade to the cream brûlée. You canât go wrong here. The owner came to our table to welcome us and gave us the dessert complimentary. We will be back!

This restaurant serves fried and broiled seafood dishes as well as Louisiana dishes including etouffe and jambalaya. The food is good and fairly plentiful but may not live up to expectations based on the long-standing reputation of the original restaurant. (Sorry) It's also at or above the mid-range in cost, especially if you order drinks and desserts. The dining area is a large open space that has televisions mounted in the corners of the room.

The menu is customizable and they easily accommodated my dietary requirements of gluten, dairy, egg and garlic-free.For those of you who donât have the restrictions, others in my party squealed (not exactly squeal) with delight when eating the chocolate dome and toffee crepe brûlée.One note: if you order a meal to accommodate a food intolerance CHECK your meal carefully when it arrives as the kitchen staff was on âautomatic pilotâ when preparing my meal causing my meal to require being made over again.
This is the old Abita BBQ place under a new owner and is getting better. The first time I went there I wasnât really impressed but itâs gotten better. My son had the half chicken dinner and I had a three meat meal with baked beans and potato salad. I chose ribs, chicken and sausage. The ribs were pretty good, the chicken good or average and the sausage was not a flavor I was familiar with. My son enjoyed his and I liked the ribs. Iâll probably give it another shot.

One of three Chimes locations.
We stopped here for lunch after I found out there was another Chimes open up, this time in Covington, and on the river there. It didn't disappoint. Service was amazing and fun after the main lunch rush had passed. Every question we had was explained or answered and everything ordered came out amazing and delicious. Can't go wrong with the blackened gator at the Chimes. Everything was amazing. Can't wait to visit again.

Striving to be the best breakfast restaurant in Covington, Mattina Bella is so named because it means âbeautiful morningâ. Mattina Bella is the quintessential neighborhood breakfast spot - one of the quaint little âgemsâ that are getting harder to find. B
This place is enormously popular with locals. Servers are friendly and efficient and the breakfast omlets are great! It's pretty noisy at high traffic times, but there are two sidewalk tables for those lucky enough to arrive when they are vacant.

I have been meaning to try this restaurant for some time. Last Saturday I stopped by as they opened to check it out. The dining room is nicely appointed with ceiling fans and windows overlooking the greenery near the river. I ordered the Catfish Lafayetta - stupendous. My wife would not stop talking about how good it was all afternoon. I also order a Catfish Poboy and a Shrimp Poboy. My expectations were low since we have some really good Poboy restaurants in Covington. I should have raised them - they were terrific. Overflowing with their contents and nicely dressed on fresh bread. All three of these dishes are moving this restaurant up my list of great places to eat in our fine city.

Travelled here from Pensacola just to get some Turbodog on draft and was very happy I did. Great pub with delicious food and best beer in the south. Located right on Tammany Trace across from Abita Springs Park. Gotta check out the 1884 Pavilion. Come for the beer, stay for the ambiance.Highly recommended!

Very quaint restaurant and not just because itâs the only place to get breakfast in Abita Springs. The food is delicious and the service is friendly but efficient. Coffee so good that I grabbed a bag of beans to go. Vegetarian friendly. Dine indoors or out.Highly recommended!

Recently visited The Half Shell with a family member. We ordered a dozen raw oysters and the crab cake appetizer. The oysters were extremely small and dry. The crab cakes were small, pan fried and had a below average flavor. We ordered bisque and half fried oysters and fried shrimp. The bisque was excellent, shrimp were good, oysters were way over cooked. Drinks were good, along with the service. Very nice atmosphere. I will not return due to the food quality. Very expensive for what we received. For the prices, quality should have been much better. Dear tmitchell38305,We are so sorry to hear about your experience at the Covington location. We didn't live up to the high standards that we are known for. We have contacted the location about your experience and we will be in the restaurant to look at the problem. If you ever have any issues with the food, please contact the General Manager of the location. thank you for your feedback.
