Find out what African restaurants to try in Franschhoek. The village of Franschhoek (French Corner), tucked into the Cape Winelands of South Africa, is known as the country's food and wine capital. Galleries and antique shops fill the tree-lined streets, and vineyards established more than 300 years ago cascade over the hills just outside town. Local activities range from wine-tasting tours to trout fishing and hiking. The Huguenot Memorial Museum honors the town's early settlers, who fled religious persecution in France.

It just seems meant to be that the location of Roca on Dieu Donne is actually translated as Rock on God Given land. This becomes apparent on first observing the iconic views of the Franschoek Valley from the upper deck of the double volume Roca Restaurant
A case of a view without any substance. Waitstaff untrained, dirt nails and shirts. Didnât fill wine glasses, service took forever, brought dessert with meal, entree sized as starter. Expensive!! Hate going to a view restaurant and getting snookered on all else. Donât waste time here. One of our finest meals while on our Africa adventure and we ate some outstanding food. The menu was delightful, even as a self proclaimed foodie, I didnât know all the terms! We had 3 different mains, it was all beautifully presented and tasty beyond belief. 4 of us fell in love with the Cabernet Sauvignon and purchased bottles to enjoy on the rest of the trip. Staff and service equally as delightful. Not to be missed!Dear Raedio21Thank you very much for sharing your review of your dining experience, here at La Petite Ferme. Cannot agree more with you on our Cabernet Sauv. one of my favorites too. We are delighted that you enjoyed yourself! We are looking forward to having you back next time you are in the area.Best regardsKyle

Fyndraai is an exciting restaurant with a local twist, on the Solms-Delta wine estate outside Franschhoek. The food, like its adventurous wines, lives up to the Solms-Delta claim of being proudly Hiervandaan (âfrom this placeâ). You not only walk into his
We were really impressed on a visit two to three years ago. This time, features of the Music Museum at Solms Delta did not function. Staff outside the wine tasting venue on this hot day seemed half-hearted about visitors. The food in the Fyndraai restaurant was value for money, but the menu limited. Howwever, wonderful to sit on the verandah, in the shade, and the service at the restaurant was good. A couple of girls enjoyed sitting out on the lawn to eat. (Staff willingly moved chairs out for them.) A pity this social experiment, as a whole, seems to be struggling, at least partially through an apparent lack of marketing energy by the beneficiaries themselves. perhaps some additional training is required. A visit to the casual restaurant will still not disappoint, though!
