After popping in for a coffee the day before, my husband and I returned for lunch the next day. Simon welcomed us with a friendly smile again and accommodated us despite normally closing for a while at 3pm. We ordered an octopus salad and a Moroccan soup and werenât disappointed with our choices. Both were delicious and we left replete. Would not hesitate to recommend this friendly restaurant with a gorgeous interior and lovely food.Thank you for your visit twice in our place ... it's your place to and it's pleasure to have you any time you big welcome

My wife, 1 1/2-year old son, and I loved this place. First of all, the owner Faoud (sp?) was incredibly warm and welcoming. He made us feel right at home. The food was amazing. Seriously, the best we had in our 2-week trip to Morocco. Then there was the music... What a cool blend of funk, blues, and African rhythms. The band was from the desert and played a style of music popular in Mali. We danced and chatted with Faoud and the band for several hours. My son especially was tearing up the dance floor. Normally, we like to try different places to eat when we are traveling, but we liked this place so much that we came back the next night!

Went with a group of 8 two nights running. Across both nights my wife and I tried various options including Oysters, Marmite whole fish, seafood soup, fried Calamari, grilled John Dory, and Crepes Suzette. All meals were great and I would go back again. Highly recommended.

Wonderfully tiny, we stumbled across this on our first night and had a wonderful vegetarian tagine. Friendly staff, family run, food was cooked upstairs and it felt more like we were in someone's house. Good food, good value, a perfect introduction to Essouria. I was with my 2 daughters, one is living close to Essouria and she has had many veggie terrines and this scored well! Would definitely recommend.

We came here for breakfast, which at 25 DAH is much better value than pretty much anywhere else in town. You get a crepe-like pancake with nutella, coffee or tea, lots of bread, olives with honey, argan and olive oil. My partner is gluten-free and despite having no options ready to go, the owner was incredibly friendly made her some rice and didn't even charge us for it. She went well above and beyond any service we have had in Morocco so far.I definitely recommend this for a breakfast spot and the food for other meals looked great too.

Tara Café is a small restaurant / café that offers different meals a day, on slate: a vegetarian plate, a plate accompanied by meat and 2 dishes of the day to choose from. Many desserts to close this lunch. In the dining room or on the small terrace, you
Our first night in Essaouira, arrived too late to eat in our Riad so we checked out the restaurants nearby. Found this quaint piazza, lovely cafe/restaurant. The piazza was beautifully lit, with kids playing, and people eating, very welcoming, and cozy. We ordered the Goat cheese salad, fried calamari, and couscous with lamb. The salad was fresh and welcomed after a 7-hour bus from Casablanca. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with rubbery, flavorless calamari, especially being a fishing town, and dry lamb which was also flavorless along with the veggies and couscous. No seasoning or spices. The service was good though, very friendly staff. Worth it to go back for coffee or a juice just to sit in the beautiful location. Lots of kitties which I love, but may bother others.

Just a hole in the wall shop but they served us the best chicken tajine we've had so far as well as the softest bread! I also tried their lentil dish which was nice but might not be filling or varied enough for some. Tajine and couscous dishes were all around 30Dh and tea was only 5Dh. Highly recommend!

Our Riad ( hotel) had recommended the restaurant and it was a great recommendation. The host and owner was very friendly and her mom was looking after the home made cooking . We were a party of four and had a great time. The home made cooking was excellent . I had the shrimp & calamar tajine . That evening the. owner was also serving her family and cousins from Casablanca. That shows how good the food is. A great atmosphere and great live music. I recommend any time this restaurant. It s pleaser To receive you in my restaurant and be recomanded by your hôtel it s Will be honest and good food traditionnelle...i Will keep my quality and food see you soon

Very small family owned restaurant with very slow service. Food is average and choice limited. My chicken was really dry, you could feel that it was not slow cooked like real tagines. Restaurant is very clean and owner friendly. There is much better in Essaouira.
