Reviews on Afghani food in Islamabad, Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan. Serving as the capital of Pakistan since the Sixties, Islamabad was built according to a carefully organized plan, divided into sectors along a grid of clean, tree-lined streets. The city is sheltered by the Margalla Hills, the foothills of the Himalayas and the home of rare species of leopard, deer, birds, and even porcupines. Several hiking paths end at Daman-e-Koh, a picnic spot with a splendid view of the entire city, including the massive modernist Faisal Mosque and even the Rawal Dam.

The Kabul Kitchen (KK) is an Islamabad landmark. In the warm summer evenings tables spread out onto the pavements and families sit outside talking and eating. The reason to come here is the excellent food - watch it being made over the grill. We ordered the kebabs and then the meat skewers - they were seared well, tasty and succulent and with rice and naan - it was just excellent. This is excellent value for money and a great place to watch Pakistani society walk by...there is also and excellent bakery. Go enjoy, trust the food and the people - you wont be disaapointed

the most famous dish here is barbecue platter which they invented many years back and now followed by many others. the spice level in their dishes is bit at higher side which may not be comfortable for many young kids.the best thing here is you can order the food on telephone and reserve your table and avoid wastage of time recommended for barbecue lovers.

Last time I visited Kheva it was a little disappointing as the indoor setup was undergoing renovations and outdoor had flies which kept bugging the kids and we could hardly enjoy food. Even the food quality wasn't as good as it always has. Let's hope it's renovated soon. For those who visit kheva namkeen tikka and dopyaza is a must try. Meat lovers will definitely enjoy it.

Thought they'd be explosives in starter and grenades in desserts? I never tried Afghani before. Got curious when I saw this restaurant, claimed to be real Afghani. and and yes I loved the food. The service is outstanding, the staff was always smiling. They helped me pick up Afghani specialties. Took time to explain me various dished (I'm very inquisitive) Their shami kabar (which are actually seekh kabab in Punjab) are really tasty. The dumplings they served are good but slightly heavy ( I had similar dumplings in Shanghai right in front of Shanghai masjid) so that means you don't wish to miss it :)They served me with complimentary desserts and Afghan Green Tea at the end. The prices are acceptable. I ate to my full and had bill not exceeding Rs. 2500 for 2 adults.
