The Žilina Region is one of the eight Slovak administrative regions and consists of 11 districts and 315 municipalities, from which 18 have a town status. The region was established in 1923, however, in its present borders exists from 1996.

This is definitely a must-see for every tourist. Entry to two houses with expositions is only 3€ per person and it’s possible to get a guide as well. The houses inside depicts traditional life in a Slovak village, interesting facts and items.

Beautiful little mountain village The clock is the center piece of the town in the main square . Also check out the church and the food at the main hotel is cheap and cheerful. Your also only a few kilometres from Terchova as well take the time to explore this area

Nature is playing art with this piece of rock. It has a shape of a hammer standing up. The view to the valley is beautifull.

The boat trip cost €8 and then you pay €1 to get on the island and the whole trip last about 90 min. The views are amazing and relaxing. The island in the middle of the artificial lake is a like heaven. Thank you
