I was impressed. The museum consists of 2 buildings: a space exhibition and the house in which Sergey Pavlovich Korolev was born in Zhytomyr. The Space part works without a lunch break. There is a fee for photographing in the museum. It is better to have a guided tour, one will learn so much. Otherwise, it is possible to have an audio guided tour sitting in comfortable seats, hanging on ropes from the ceiling - space atmosphere indeed. The exposition is rich, informative and spectacular. There are models of spacecrafts, one of which was in the open space with autographs of 2 cosmonauts on it, as well as life-size precise models of artificial satellites, Lunokhod (a lab for operations on the Moon surface), space module "Vostok", orbital module "Soyuz", documents, pictures, space suites, personal belongings of the first conquerors of space and objects of their life in the orbit... There is a capsule with soil from the Moon (!) The only thing, that would make me even happier, would be a possibility to wear a space suite. Not available in the museum yet. However, there is a space suite (like the one G.Clooney had in "Gravity"), painted, with a hole for a head, where visitors can pose and have their picture taken. What a place!!!

Although the place requires a lot of renovarion, it is still quite beautiful. The church itself is renovated, it is modest but very nice. In the basement of the church there is an interesting excibition about the history of the place. N.B! there is a toilet in the monastery, but no a food facility inside or nearby.

Ostrovsky Park is a small shady park in Korosten located immediately next to Skala ('Rock'). Allegedly, it is located on the territory of ancient Iskorosten, but there are no remains of any ancient strucutres. It's not worth going to Korosten specifically for this park, but it might be a nice 15-minute stop, if you happen to be passing by the town.
LEGEND BEHIND THE PARK (AND KOROSTEN ITSELF)
According to a not confirmed legend, there was a war between Kiev princess Olha and Iskorosten (Korosten) prince Mal in mid-Xth century. Olha's husband Ihor, son of Kiev Rus dynasty founder Rurik, tried to get extra tribute from Drevlian tribe ('people of trees'), whose capital was Iskorosten, and got killed. Olha representing another tribe (Poliane, 'people of fields', the tribe that founded the Kiev Rus state) started peace talks with Mal and demanded pigeons from Iskorosten. Olha commanded to tie burning tree bark to the pigeons and the birds returning to the town in panic, set Iskorosten on fire. As the result, autonomy of Drevlian tribe was liquidated and their land was incorporated by fast-growing Kiev Rus. According to unconfirmed interpretation of unclear places in another legend, Mal's grandson is St. Vladimir, Kiev prince and Baptizer of Rus.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IN THE PARK
You will see bronze statues of Olha, Mal and Mal's son, daughter and grandson Vladimir. There are many old trees giving nice shade, and benches to enjoy the shade. Also, there is a small monument to 'derun', Ukrainian potato pancake (literally - 'torn [potato]'). The park is located on a hill with a small and shallow river Uzh at its foot. In the river, there are many Ice Age rocks that are collectively called Princess Olha's Bath.
WHAT YOU SHOULD NOT EXPECT
Not all places of the park are accessible for the disable. No orchestra or any other music. No costumed shows (or any other shows or performances). No carousels, horse rides, or bycicle rentals/paths. The river is not suitable for bathing. No food/drinks stalls.

"Kingdom of gold" - this is how my child said about it's interior. Definetely worth seeing. When being built, the chuch was meant to be the central orthodox one in Volyn. Easy to find.

Korostyshiv mine is a lake surrounded by granite rocks. Lake had formed at the place of granite extraction supposedly in 1942. The lake is very picturesque, tall pines grow at the edge of the rocky precipice, just from granite. The height of the rocks reaches 10 meters, depth of the lake - up to 20 meters. Water in the lake is clear because there is no sand and silt.
This place is very good for taking a walk across the forest, the path goes around the lake. Dirt road about 350 meters of length connects this place with E40 route. This lake was used repeatedly for filming of TV series and music clips.
There are some restaurant near the lake and wooden pear at the bank, but no more significant infrastructure around.

If you are interested in Orthodox religious places, you sure want to see this one in Zhytomyr as well. It has blue royal-blue cupola which look very fancy. Please note a snake depicted in the small hall situated before the main hall of the church: the snake represents all sins of mankind - very impressive!

'Skala' ('Rock') is located immediately next to Korosten city park (Ostrovsky park). 'Skala' is a Soviet underground military command post built in mid-1930th. During WWII it was one of the posts of the South-Western Front against Germany. ‘Skala’ is not worth going to Korosten specifically for it, but it might be a nice 30-minute entertainment, if you happen to be passing by the town.
WHAT YOU WILL SEE
Underground structure that includes one 200ft corridor and two dozens of rooms that are kept the way they looked while in use. The rooms are used to exhibit WWII Soviet and German weaponry. Also, there are chemical and radioactive protective suits. One of the rooms imitates NKVD department (internal security, WWII-time 'KGB'). There are many pictures and some dummy models of similar structures.
WHAT YOU WILL NOT SEE
No English labels, audio tours, costumed shows, interactive screens.
COST
Entrance is about $1 for a family of 4.
SUGGESTIONS AND WARNINGS
It's about 10° centigrade (50° Fahrenheit) permanent temperature inside. No accessible toilets. No drinks/food available. No accessibility for the disabled.

Very beautiful park . There are many wedding photo shoots held here every Summer . The flowers are the best part of the parks in Ukraine . Each color of each flower symbolizes something . The plush trees and cool breeze make these parks ideal for picnics and recreation like futbol.
