Denmark's largest island is so much more than simply the home of the country's dynamic capital, Copenhagen. Zealand also offers a delightful array of holiday homes and villas, pleasing harbors and sandy beaches, fringed by forests where castles lurk. Major destinations include the UNESCO-designated, Dutch Renaissance-style Kronborg Castle in Helsingor and the Viking attractions, cathedral and music festival of Roskilde. To the south bobs a flotilla of beautiful and relatively untouched islands.

Tadre Mølle is the most well-preserved and still functioning watermill of a total of 13 water mills in the area. The mill is listed and offers a good story about "Mill Marie" who owned and maintained family mill for many years by herself. Tadre Mølle is the perfect destination for an enjoying the fresh air and beautiful nature. Here is an opportunity for enjoying a picnic while the kids go exploring in the mill and in the area. The museum is currently closed for the winter, but you are welcome to visit and use the facilities around the mill and enjoy your own picnic food.
