The Afghanistan Avenue of Honour is a living memorial dedicated to the memory of all who served in the fight against terror in Afghanistan and to those brave and selfless Australians who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of freedom and liberty.
Such a peaceful lovely tribute to those who served in Afghanistan. So well set out & very informative. Beautiful lakeside serene setting , such a worthwhile visit & time of reflection. Credit to those in the community that were involved in the organising & planning, excellent. Highly recommended.

This place is amazing seeming it was formed from a volcanic eruption many years ago and the lake formed in the crater.Lovely quiet walk around the gardens and lake. There is a quaint tea house on the lake for light refreshments snacks and scones,so tranquil, worth a visit. And her sister lake,Lake Eacham is only 20 mins away,so nice to visit that as well.

I love this little spot! Take just a short walk across the bridge from he viewing platform, just under the bridge and walk along until you see a little bench by the rive and you’ll see a platypus every time! Just make sure you stay quiet and still.

We were on a 'road trip' day as part of our holiday in the wonderful city of Cairns. The fig tree is located off the main road about 5 mins drive. There is a small carpark and plenty of street parking around as it is a quiet country road. Once you arrive there is about a 100m walk through the beautiful bush to the tree. We saw bush turkeys as we made our way to the tree. The tree itself is a sight to behold and definitely not something you see every day! Photos just don't do it justice - you have to see it for yourself. Definitely worth the visit if you are into such unique offerings that nature presents to us!

Wonderful walking trail with multiple places to stop and watch for platypus. The trail is an easy walk and there are benches along the trail to stop and patiently watch the creek for a platypus or two swimming by. We saw several and had a great time during our morning walk.

This is a great market with lots to see and a good variety of stalls ranging from fresh local produce, handmade goods, clothing, great food and much much more! Well worth a trip to Yungaburra for these markets! It is always on the 4th Saturday of each month come rain, hail or shine!!
