We had the great fortune to stay at Bondadio's for a week in April this year during a Bushtracker Owners' Group mini-muster. What a beautiful place. The campground is roomy and the facilities while not fancy, are great. Power, water, toilets, camp kitchen etc.The river is beautiful for walks and the birdwatching is amazing. Prices are very reasonable and the campground is handy to just about everything worth seeing on the Tablelands. If you have a van and are looking for somewhere great to stay, try Bonadio RV and Nature Park. The owners have done a lovely job of combining camping and nature.

Cathedral Fig Tree

Reviewed By 837charlesb837

We were on a 'road trip' day as part of our holiday in the wonderful city of Cairns. The fig tree is located off the main road about 5 mins drive. There is a small carpark and plenty of street parking around as it is a quiet country road. Once you arrive there is about a 100m walk through the beautiful bush to the tree. We saw bush turkeys as we made our way to the tree. The tree itself is a sight to behold and definitely not something you see every day! Photos just don't do it justice - you have to see it for yourself. Definitely worth the visit if you are into such unique offerings that nature presents to us!

Wonderful walking trail with multiple places to stop and watch for platypus. The trail is an easy walk and there are benches along the trail to stop and patiently watch the creek for a platypus or two swimming by. We saw several and had a great time during our morning walk.

Yungaburra Visitor Information Centre

Reviewed By robbygc - Toronto, Canada

We had problems finding the ideal place to see a platypus. The clerk at the Yungaburra Information Centre was very nice and she gave us several options. At the end we were laughing. She gave us a map where we possibly could see a platypus. We had fun trying to find a platypus, without any success. Still, we had a good time. I liked the museum in the Yungaburra Information Centre. It was all about the animals in this region. It was quite interesting and it was free. We learned a lot here and we were looking forward in seeing some of these local animals. Worthwhile to see!
