Alejandro was an outstanding guide taking us to the open Santiago market to review the local produce we will be eating at the nearby food stands. So when you eat the food you really get the taste and get an understanding of the local cuisine. Highly recommended! P.S. Don't eat breakfast and come hungry.

Time seems to have stood still in the beautiful hacienda of Sotuta de Peon. One feels like one has been transported back to the 19th century when the fibre henequen was cultivated right across the yucatan and sold all over the world. From the moment of your arrival you feel as though you are inside a real live functioning hacienda. The architecture has been conserved as has the steam-powered chimney, the storage room for the henequen and a Deauville railway network where the small carts of hennequen were pulled along by mules. It´s one of the few haciendas in Yucatan where hennequen is still produced.

We booked this tour on a Tuesday and were supposed to be picked up on Thursday at 1 PM. A mere 15 MINUTES before we were supposed to be picked up we received an email saying our tour guide had cancelled. We never received an explanation for the cancellation and were very upset.

I tried calling to let them know i would sit inside the lobby as opposed to the hot sun, i got no answer. I went back out at 8:50 (our proposed meeting time), and NO SHUTTLE in site. Called 4 times, was hung up on 4 times and on the 5th call, i stood on hold for another 30 minutes. I even tried emailing and got no response. They will STEAL YOUR MONEY and it’s not worth the hassle since THEY DO NOT COMMUNICATE AFTER YOU PURCHASE

Highly, highly recommend Yucatan Excursions ! Polo is the best tour guide and I plan to call him when we are back in Yucatan. These tours were definitely the highlights of our trip!! Polo speaks excellent English, and is a wealth of information about the region. We planned two tours with Polo, and here is a summary of each.... Tour 1: We arranged to visit Uxmal, Chocolate museum, Hacienda and Cenote. We departed early morning for Uxmal and had an early tour which was wonderful— cool weather and pretty much had the ruins to ourselves. We debated about going to the chocolate museum and thankfully went. Again, we started early and had much of the park to ourselves- we fed the spider monkeys, had a mayan ritual performance that was dedicated to us, saw beautiful jaguars, and bad a traditional chocolate tasting- Polo knew the ins and outs. We then went to the Hacienda and enjoyed a private lunch. After lunch, Polo arranged for a tour of the hacienda and accompanied us for translation. We concluded our day with a trip to a off the beaten path cenote. Polo also arranged to take pictures of us in the centoe, and introduced us to local Mexican refreshments. We had an amazing day - thank you, Polo. Tour 2 - We had such a nice time with Polo that we asked if he would be open to taking us from Merida to Tulum with sightseeing along the way. We were thrilled that he agreed, and our day included: visit to the yellow city of Ixmal (including visit for breakfast at local market and visit to local ruins), El Bakal ruins, tequila tasting and tour in Mayapan, private lunch and tour around Valladolid, and then a cool off at an incredible cenote off the beaten path. Polo was very flexible, trustworthy and accommodating. We had such a great time on both tours with Polo, and I don’t think we would have had such a great time without our tours with Polo. In summary, I would highly recommend Yucatan excursions to anyone in Merida or the Yucatan region looking for an authentic Mexican experience!

I purchased two tours through Expedia. Amigo Tours sent me an email that they cancelled the trip less than 24 hours from the first tour to Celestun. They told me to contact Expedia to ask for my full refund. I did a lot of times, and apparently Amigo Tours did not tell Expedia that the tour didn’t happen, and they don’t answer Expedia when supposedly they are trying to contact Amigo Tours. So Expedia won’t give me my refund! I spent $133 for a tour that didn’t happen, but that it appears that it did happen in Expedia. I am so pissed!!! My itinerary number for the Celestun tour is 72069049521822. Please help me fix this. Unless you are just trying to run with my money?!

I cannot day enough about this amazing experience! Ismael was such a great guide. He was courteous and kind and accommodating. He took care of everything and made sure we enjoyed all of our experiences to the fullest. Now the excursion itself...humbling is probably the word I would use the most. Chichen and it’s history as massive story was our start. Next...we had a personal cooking class with the most amazing women at the Yok Co-Op. They were patient and funny and so very informative. They take great pride in traditional Mayan cooking and we were in awe of the freshness and flavors that come from such traditional methods. These women are collectively doing so much for the town and community and the pride in their work and efforts is just incredible. The Cenote was a great finish to our day. Refreshing and beautiful and calm. We wanted one away from the main tourist type places and one that was easy to get in and out of and Yok was just ideal and perfect. This excursion is a journey and a lesson rich in Mayan history and we are so deeply grateful for a perfect day.
