The indoor exhibits were well presented and interesting to anyone young or old. An unexpected highlight was the "Sculpture Tour" throughout the the main trail to the beaches. Easy to navigate, well maintained trails. PWS48 PWS48

The Marginal way is a great place to walk. The view is fantastic. Also you can see most of the places to stay on the water front. See the privet homes as well (It must be nice for some people). There are places to sit along the Way. Or walk onto the rocks for a closer look at the water. There are some walk ways down to the beach. Just make sure you bring your walking shoes. A must walk and see.

Ok. I admit that I love lighthouses and this is one of my favorites. Built in 1879, it is on a little island off the coast and is an American icon. The Voyager spacecraft carries a photo of this lighthouse as one of Earth's most prominent icons along with the Great Wall. It is picturesque and I painted it when I was very young and came here. Located in the middle of a housing neighborhood, there is a little restaurant off the parking lot. To me, it is classic Maine.

We were planning a trip to Boston's children museum. We then figured that our three-year-old might do better at a smaller and closer venue for her first museum trip. This is not a small museum. We were all thoroughly entertained with so many exhibits for younger children. It was a rainy day, so it was a bit crowded. We plan on coming back soon when it might be less crowded. Fun day!

This is a great place. The beach is so deep and smooth. We were there in October, but I can imagine it's pretty busy in the summer. Parking is somewhat limited. I'd recommend coming here to take in the views and colors at sunset, even though the sun sets behind you.

We took our grandson on this whale watch in the hopes of seeing humpback whales and dolphins. We were only able to see one humpback which was not very cooperative as it did not stay up long before taking deep dives. Nevertheless, we did get to see it and my grandson loved it. The crew was friendly and very helpful and they did everything they could to manuever the boat so we would see the whale when it surfaced. While we were disappointed to see only one whale, that is the way of whale watches. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. We did see a young seal in the water near the boat and, the highlight of the trip, was an Ocean Sunfish laying flat on the surface of the ocean absorbing the sun's rays. It seemed enormous and the captain manuevered the boat so everyone could get a chance to see it. We were able to see its huge mouth and an eye, observing it for quite awhile. At the end of the trip, we were given 3 complimentary tickets for another whale watch because they felt that one whale was not very exciting. The complimentary tickets are good for two years which was a pleasant surprise. Despite the lack of whales, it was an enjoyable outing on the ocean and we will be using our free tickets to try again next year!

This is a walk that not many tourists even know about (it's not as famous as the one in Ogunquit up the road). However, it's less crowded, more peaceful, and has beautiful views of the harbor, a small beach, gorgeous homes and summer 'cottages', and glimpses of the ocean. Great little path to walk off a delicious meal at the nearby York Harbor Inn restaurant.

We go to this bakery every time we are in the area 2-3 times a year. Everything is always spectacular! And delicious! They seem to have seasonal items as well as regular items we can get all the time. I am always amazed at how well their staff knows the products and ingredients. There is usually a line to get your bread sliced, but that makes it easier to snack on during the ride home. Some of their breads are so good, they make wonderful desserts. There is a pizza restaurant next door, but we have never been in.
