In Tainan's West Central District, Guohua Street is a must-visit place if you like inexpensive, diverse street food. From Chenggong Street on the north to Fuqian Street on the south, this long street is filled with food stalls and small, inexpensive restaurants. We visited twice during our stay in Tainan and were amazed at the quality and diversity of food available. Most of the things we ate were $NTD30-50, and we grazed as we walked up and down the street. Highlights included incredible wonton dumplings, fried sweet potato fritters, beef soup, and milk tea galore! We enjoyed it more than the well known Garden Night Market, which had more of a State Fair fried-food quality to it. And, mixed in with all the food are innumerable little stores. Great place to spend an afternoon or evening!
