I’ve visited this pub on many occasions since September. Moved to Worcester from Birmingham for my first year at University and just stepping stones away from my accommodation this gem has become my local. During these nerving times for most, the venue holds itself as the warmest atmosphere I have experienced in a local pub, the staff work extremely hard to make myself and my friends feel comfortable when visiting, the real ale is to die for and their pint of Guinness is the best in Worcester! The locals make us feel so welcome no matter what day of the week there is always a friendly face to talk too. Would definitely recommend visiting this riverside pub.

The Black Boy Pub, 50 Wyre Hill Bewdley. The oldest pub in Bewdley which has been dated to around 1462. We have 2 bars, a games room and a large beer garden at the rear. We have 4 local real ales, 2 lagers, 2 ciders and Guinness on tap plus a range of bottled beers. There is also a range of fine wines and a selection of gins.
The Black Boy Wyre Hill is exactly how a pub should be-a stunning historic and cosy building with lovely beer garden with far reaching views across the Severn valley. There is a real sense of community about the place too-we recently trudged down there during a snowstorm and seeing all the others who had braved the elements to warm up with a drink around a log fire was wonderful. I believe it has recently changed hands and the new owners seem keen to retain the classic, traditional pub feel which the town sorely needs, especially now we have a, ahem, **well known pub chain*** in the town. There is always great music setting the mood and a fine selection of beers, ales, spirits (there's a menu just for the G&Ts!) and bar snacks. Seriously, try one of the pork pies with mustard and a pint of Ludlow Gold! Regular darts nights, quiz nights and many other social events reinforce the vibrant community feel that so many pubs seem to lack nowadays. It's dog friendly too and is surely set to become 'the' pub in Bewdley-to my mind it already is.

Great proper pub with unfailingly quality real ale. Should always be top of your list if visiting Worcester.

Retroids spawned in 2018 and was born from a passion for all things arcade. With a heavy dose of nostalgia, a love of great beer and a desire to level up. We have evolved into an attraction within Worcester and offer original arcade gaming, pinball and an atmosphere like no other.
Spent an hour at Retroids and absolutely loved it!! Kids are all 11, so £5 per child for an hour’s worth of retro arcade fun was really money well spent! We’ll be back for sure!

Enjoy a Cask Ale, Craft Beer or Gin in a buzzing & welcoming splendid 17th century Grade II listed exterior of tiles and etched windows. The small bar, and adjoining saloon area, have been tastefully refurbished, keeping many original features. This great Traditional pub with magnificent listed tiled frontage and its decorous sand blasted windows has been an Inn for over 200 years and still has the original flooring, bar and some fittings that can be seen throughout the bar! In 1779 it was known at the Young's Mug House, and was also called the Volunteer between 1814-1817. Following that it became the Plumber's Arms before it became the well known Eagle Vaults. The best thing about this little gem is the first floor restaurant, with Mediterranean inspired roots, it is simply exquisite in theme and food!
We visited for a bite to eat and drink during the 'Tier 2' restrictions this December. The staff were very warm and welcoming and attentive throughout our time in the bar. We felt comfortable and COVID secure as staff were wearing visors, plenty hand sanitiser and enough room to social distance between tables. We both had the Gyros - it was huge, absolutely delicious and as we sat upstairs in the restaurant the decor made us feel as though we were on holiday abroad which was lovely! The cocktails we're 241 and we're also very tasty you could tell they were made to a high standard. It was a very enjoyable visit and we will definitely visit again in the future!
