Massage with Dawn- combined general and deep tissue, really was superb. As are the general facilities, - not least their cleanliness and general ambience.. There is a small (again immaculate) women's steam room and women's sauna (as there are for men) which I had sole use of, and expect 'off peak' that is often the case. The use of those facilities is included in the price of a massage, available before or after.. and so give yourself more time. The receptionist is lovely too!

The gallery is located in a beautiful garden setting 4 miles west of the Woodstock village green, showing contemporary fine art, sculpture and ceramics of regional and internationally known artists. Owner/potters Alan Hoffman and Elena Zang also create their ceramics on site in their studios.
Zang Gallery features mainly Woodstock area artists but of the New York City -- make that world class -- level of of skill. The openings are a must.

A beautiful and serene monastery that serves as a retreat and study center and is worth a visit.
Beautiful zen grounds, visitors are welcome to explore the monastery and gift shop. Free parking onsite. The monastery is located at the trailhead of an easy hike. We always stop here after a winter walk up the mountain. Very peaceful and educational. They have numerous events and programs.

In a town with the WAAM, The Photography Center, The Byrdcliffe Guild and the Woodstock School of Art, the library is another icon of local culture. Great used book sales in warm months -- usually Saturday mornings -- and some great collections like that of the art room. Eventually, the library will be replaced by a new building, but, for now, enjoy the conviviality and range.
