Took that drive up the mountain and please allow me to say that its beautiful, drive careful and always use a 4x4 vehicle, saw a few cars trying to comedown the mountain hauling rear end and almost fell out the side of the mountain. The summit it’s very high so be careful going up specially if you can’t handle the altitude, but it’s worth it buy one of those oxygen bottle they sell. Go up it’s Gorgeous.

A big fan of the wolves, coyotes, and the foxes. Our guide was OUTSTANDING and this is no Fish tail. This place is more like a zoo and a little bit too commercialized. The staff is clearly passionate about the animals and very well educated. The gift shop is very well stocked. The bathrooms are outside, but well maintained. Easy to find and not far from Colorado Springs. Colorado is lucky to have this and other great wolf facilities. .

Just a few of the Adventures: •Wolf Walks We offer exclusive educational Wolf Walks in the Pikes Peak region. We will stop along the trail to take photos of you with the wolves. The scenery is breathtaking with the towering Red Rock and Pikes Peak as your backdrop.
One of the most amazing experiences of my life! Let me caveat that I'm a wolf-lover and can still remember my first ever report for school about wolves. I love their approach. Walking through the garden of the gods is awesome already and to do it with wolves and people who can share a great deal of information is just incredible. They take a couple hundred photos and really ensure that you have an amazing and personal experience. Great team with a great philosophy.

Travel back in time -- The Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center is a new 20,000 square foot museum located in Woodland Park, Colorado (only 30 min. from Colorado Springs). We feature fossils from North America's Cretaceous Period including marine reptiles, pterosaurs, dinosaurs, a working fossil lab viewable by visitors, children's play area and hands-on educational activities. Open all year.
I am a dinosaur fanatic and I absolutely loved this place. We were fortunate enough to be the only people on the early morning tour and got in-depth information on all of the exhibits. I absolutely loved it. Greg, Lindy and Crystal were wonderful guides and answered all of my questions about all aspects of dinosaurs. We even got to see where the fossils and casts are prepared, which I thought was a fantastic addition to what was already a really fun tour. I've never seen so many dinosaurs in one place, and was just blown away by the quality of the displays. I hope I get to come back some day!

The North Pole Santa's Workshop is a Christmas theme family park that is open from Mid May to December 24. Located at the foot of Pikes Peak highway, where the altitude is 7,500 feet, this park is haven for kids to enjoy the Christmas season 7 months of the year.
Went on a Sunday in mid November and had an excellent time with our 3 and 8 year old kids.
Regular admission initially seems a little steep at $23, but it's worth it. Plenty of rides that the kids *really* enjoyed and outside of Santa and the zip line, the wait was never more than about 10 minutes or do.
Get Santa out of the way first, then use the rest of the day on rides and attractions.
Overall, this place is great and we left looking forward to another visit.

This is a small man-made lake with some picnic grounds and some walking trails. Bank fishing is popular for stocked trout.
It is nice but nothing special. Nice views but not any better than many other similar places
If you plan to make a day of it the $6.00 admission may be worthwhile, for a short visit seek other options. They use some of the fee to maintain the area. Tables and parking are in good shape but signs of heavy use are everywhere.
The lake is at the end of a 7 mile bike trail running from Woodland Park, might make a nice destination for a family bike ride for those so inclined.

Welcome to the Shining Mountain Golf Club and Event Center - Woodland Park, Colorado's very own public mountain golf course. Come see why Golf Digest rated us as one of the "Top 50 Courses to play once in a lifetime". We also have one of the only permanent Disc Golf courses in Colorado. This is fun for the whole family! After a day of playing, come relax in the clubhouse or on our 1400 sq ft.deck and enjoy the views of Pikes Peak while dining at the Shining Mountain Bar and Grill. Our renowned Chef Steve has created a menu of culinary favorites that you cannot find anywhere else!
Shining Mountain is a bit off the beaten path but the visitor is rewarded with a very nice golf course in magnificent surroundings. The course is in good shape and definitely is no pushover. Bring plenty of balls as some areas are wild and entry is prohibited. Reasonably priced. We have not dined there so I can't offer a comment on the food or service.

The Cowhand is the only place to purchase original western clothing and accessories. They've been in business for three generations and over 50 years. I would say they are doing something right!

I call this park my "little" Garden of the Gods because it has the same red sandstone formations as Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs but they only tower 30-40 feet. These clumps of red rocks have been a local favorite for years and is great for kids and teens as they can climb all over these formations. If you search long enough you'll find "the window" and many "caves" as you test your scrambling skills. Park at the wood fence and then walk up the highline right-of-way to the rock formations hidden among the trees. Take a picnic or reserve the campground for your group.

Friend ask me to stop in here for a beer. Very friendly staff. I explained to the staff what I liked & the type of beers that bother my throat (Gerd) their recommendations was outstanding. Great ale. I will go back again. I plan to try the food next time.
