Beautiful landscaping and historic buildings can be found at this winery. Wandering to the tasting rooms was a highlight as we passed by peacocks and floral gardens. Tasting rooms themselves were slightly pretentious. Staff was light so hard to get service. Nice gift shop options.

The 144-acre park provides habitat for songbirds, waterfowl, raptors, shorebirds, amphibians, turtles, beavers and other small mammals.
I frequent this park because it is so peaceful. Having grown up in Kirkland, I know this site used to be a golf course. I'm so glad it wasn't turned into a housing development! There are cement trails for wandering the grassy area. My favorites are the wooden walkways that take you out to viewing docks. The walkway you first reach (closest to the parking lot) takes you to a fairly large viewing area where more of Lake Washington is visible as well as swans, geese, ducks, turtles and eagles. My personal preference is the second walkway (further down the cement walkway). It has two viewing areas. From the second one you can watch turtles sunbathing on the logs as well as view the ducks. If you're lucky, a large eagle will be perched in the trees above. I'll include a few pics of the areas I've described.

Small batch whiskey distillery. Tasting Room, Bottle Sales, and Complimentary Tours.
The tour was excellent and very interesting and informative. The entire operation is fascinating. After the tour, we tried the whiskeys and there were clear favorites. We asked to try the vodka as well and ended up buying a bottle. The American whiskey was preferred of the four offered in the tasting room. It is a great place to stop when in the area. Even if your first love is wine or beer it is quite interesting to hear about their operation.
The Hollywood Tavern is next door and it offers a wide range of foods.

A popular local brewery.
With so many interesting choices for winery and brew pub tasting rooms, Redhook provided a fun venue for a Sunday afternoon. Corn chowder dip was just the right blend of creaminess and bite. Penn Cove mussels were well prepared. Beer choices were broad and flavorful. Fun crowd and great service. Worth a stop!

This winery is simply superb in their craft, atmosphere, service, and tasting facilitation. We had a large party and everything was executed to perfection! Tip: Make reservations before arriving, and call ahead to order a delicious cheese plate for your visit. You'll be treated with the utmost respect and gratitude here and you'll definitely take home some bottles after a very enjoyable tasting. Cheers!

The winery is beautiful, the gift shop is well stocked with interesting and creative gifts and the wines are delicious. Located right in the middle of Woodinville's ever growing wine country, this should be close to the top of your list for a visit.

Outstanding Washington Wines
The setting was beautiful. We began with a white which was part semiillon and part Sauvignon blanc. The wine was served at the White House twice. It was delicious. Next we walked up to a gazebo at the top of a hill. They put together...MoreHi Vivian- Thank you so much for visiting us! We so enjoyed hosting you and hope to see you again soon! Best Wishes-

We were helped by a blonde woman whose name I believe was Kelley. She was amazingly nice and welcoming. Many people in tasting rooms are distant and non-engaging, that was not our experience. She indicated she worked there for 4 years or so.
Wine is very solid, especially the quality and price ratios. We really liked the Longevity, but our group also liked a very high percentage of the other wines. We ordered a few cases since we were so pleased.
Had our younger daughter with us and she was happy to meet Frodo. Well done, we will be back. Thank you!

Visit our spacious Woodinville Tasting Room Friday through Sunday noon to 5:00 pm and enjoy a flight of Efeste’s award winning wines. Our Ceidleigh and Jolie Bouche Syrahs have each made the Wine Spectator Top 100 List.
We arrived an hour or two before Efeste's open hours, but I'm originally from a large urban area and brashly tried the door. It was open and the three of us walked in. In that above-mentioned urban area we would have been ejected. Not here. The wine maker welcomed us, even though he was busy, and said he'd find someone to help us. Apparently no official sales person was available (well, they weren't officially open), so the accountant came. She apologized for not being as knowledgeable as the regular counter person, but she was excellent. I'm sure she would have helped us choose favorites if we'd needed help, but Efeste wines sell themselves. I wonder now if the "real" salesperson was any better than the accountant.
We'd been to four tasting rooms the day before, three of them with very good to excellent wines. I'm so glad we had them for comparison, because we had a better idea then of just how exceptional Efeste is. Tried Final Final first, of the reds; I'd had this twice already at The Purple Cafe -- it's very popular (which in some areas might mean nothing). I would have been happy with a case of this, but then we were given increasingly better reds! We didn't buy any Final Final, that's how much we loved the other reds. Our case was made up of the reds poured after Final Final. Incredible. This visit made the Woodinville experience for me.
For our credentials: I was there with my son-in-law, who has an excellent palate and experience with west coast wines, and my daughter, who has been a sommelier and who has joined me on most of my journeys to France to taste wine and dine at Michelin recommended restaurants.
In short: brava accountant; bravissimo winemaker. Don't come to Efeste first; save it for your last -- but not the same day as other taste-rooms. Start a day with Efeste -- and then switch to the breweries.
