This is a very large outlet mall in two different plazas separates by a large street. It isn’t very conducive to walking. It is much too spread out. I would say the stores are maybe slightly above normal. Maybe a 6 on a scale of 1-10.

Our daughter was accepted to several UC's (including UCLA) and private schools (including USC). She chose Davis for its natural beauty, friendly town, amazing research programs, and just the nicest students you could imagine. We live in southern California, and the town of Davis just felt "good" to her, and all of us.

There are lots and lots of picnic tables under a sunscreen, enough to accommodate a couple hundred people, which was much appreciated as when we arrived in the Sunday it seemed that practically every seat was taken. A live band was playing and there were lots of families with young kids picnicking and enjoying the afternoon. We bought a sampler (six 5-ounce tastes for $10) and managed to get a couple of seats at a table. Neither of us were much impressed with the beers, preferring darker, richer tasting ones, but as a venue for a relaxing afternoon, it couldn't be beat.

This two-mile-long arboretum is a peaceful, popular spot.
UC Davis Arboretum is a treasure. Mostly paved walking path makes it walkable even on rainy days. Shaded with a heavy tree lined canopy makes it a great place to walk even in the heat of the summer. There are various "gardens/collections" along the loop path with informational signs about the plant species, their native origin, and other educational facts. Without predators the duck population has exploded and duck dropping are more prevalent than natural. Benches and tables along the Putah Creek loop course make this an enjoyable place to walk, relax, and unwind. A treasure to be preserved and protected.

My husband, 26-year old son, and I visited the Bondolio Olive Oil Farm yesterday during a quick weekend trip to Davis, Ca. I love agri-tourism, and given the amount of agriculture in the area, it's surprising how little there was available. Our visit to Bondolio...MoreDear Amy, We were delighted you came to visit us with you husband and son. We are so happy you enjoyed your visit. Glad you enjoyed downtown Winters. Please visit us again. Enjoy yiur new found food products.

Our go-to, "happy place" in Winters -- it really is like Cheers! Mike is truly amazing about introducing you to new wines or beers that suit your taste. Never disappointed with his selections. Casual, fun, unpretentious atmosphere. Chill place to hang-out with friends or meet new ones . Great outdoor patio with bocce ball court. We always stop by when we're in the area, especially before shows at the Palms. Highly recommend a visit to check out & support this hidden gem.

Large, friendly, year-round market on Saturdays and Wednesdays. For half the year (May-Oct) the Wednesday Farmer's Market is host to Picnic in the Park with live entertainment, local picnic foods from vendors and kiosks, and the farmer's market vendors. Lovely community meeting area for wonderful produce, and other foods and Picnic in the Park on Wednesdays during good weather.

My childhood besty lives in Winters, has for most of her life now, so I go up there to visit her. One of my MUST go places is the Berryessa Gap Winery. It is one of the few places where I actually love a white and a red there, so I buy a stock of their Chardonnay and my latest choice after a delightful tasting. They have a tasting room in town, and one on the outskirts of town near the campground I RV at, which is amazing as well. If you call in advance, they might consider letting you park in their lot overnight in an RV, as I spoke to the manager and he seemed fine with it.

A nature reserve administered by UC Davis for research with natural blue oak woodland and chaparral grassland in a canyon. A beautiful area. In the spring it's full of wildflowers on the main 5-mile moderately difficult loop trails with splendid vistas of the Lake Berryessa. Beware of the three-leafed poison oaks everywhere, but look closer for shooting stars, yellow mule-ears, blue dicks, etc. You won't miss the prominent blooming redbud bushes.
The dirt-lot parking is on the right as soon as you crossed Putah Creek on CA-128 from Winters just before a blind hair pin turn. Be extremely careful, we witnessed a car came flying through the blind turn hitting a car going into the parking lot. There is no turning lane. The lot fills up fast so go early around 8 am. Be prepare with water, snacks, good hiking shoes and sun protection. It gets hot out on the open ridge.
You will feel rejuvenated after the good workout with vistas, flowers, Turkey vultures as companies along the way.
