Any city that can be the butt of a Simpson's joke ("That's it! We're all going back to Winnipeg!") and simultaneously one of the most vibrant cultural centers in Canada is tops in our book. The city's history of isolation and self-sufficiency means that Winnipeggers are unpretentious and sincere (and fun-loving enough to name Homer an honorary citizen). Though the winters are long and cold, there are plenty of indoor activities to both keep you warm and stimulate your imagination.

Part of "the Forks" development, this buzzing fresh and specialty foods emporium has the feel of an outdoor market, but is actually indoors. Open year-round, it offers an array of ethnic delicacies and crafts, plus four full service restaurants.
Came here twice in just a few days. This place can get busy but it’s so beautiful to be here. Places to sit and relax ( couches and tables to place games) lots of food places to choose from, great shopping , something for everyone. Big toy store and cute boutiques, great souvenirs and the views were magnificent. A must see in Winnipeg!

Johnston Terminal as well as all of the Forks area is very interesting. Great variety of restaurants and stores. Lots of crafts, antiques and things to see in the terminal. Parking is not problem.

Inside Kildonan Place is a fast food restaurant called Kung Pao Wok. They have various Chinese foods and you can order separate foods or you can order some of their combos. One combo we always get is the Sesame Chicken, Mixed Veggies, Fried Rice (or Noodles) and a spring roll. Their combos are reasonably priced and you can add on if you want to. They also have drinks. After eating we do a bit of shopping or sometimes we take in a movie at the theatres. Nice way to spend the day.

The recent renovations at the mall are quite incredible. It's hard to believe this is the same mall! The space is bright, modern and very comfortable for walking around. The only think missing is some plants to green up the space! With the recent renovations, new stores are starting to pop up. Glad to see the new food court also has improved options including Thai Express, Tim Hortons and Jugo Juice. Looking forward to watching the mall grow as it's nice to have an option for shopping closer to home (normally had to venture to Polo Park, which is on the decline in my opinion).
