216-acre Zoo With Over 400 Species Of Animals.
I have been to many zoos, but Brookfield never disappoints. I would highly recommend their membership if you live nearby. There is a lot to see so the family has a lot of places to go. I used to have the membership when I lived in Chicago and would just go there to walk around with my daughter. The zoo is educational and relaxing. After leaving the zoo, your kids will be ready for a nap. There is a lot of fun to be had at the zoo!!!

Owned by the Village of Bridgeview and operated by Andell Sports Group, Toyota Park is a world-class soccer stadium and concert venue located at the corner of 71st & Harlem in Bridgeview, Illinois. Toyota Park has 20,000 dedicated seats for soccer and up to 28,000 dedicated seats for concerts. The state-of the art venue also has 48 luxury suites, numerous hospitality areas, and a full service Stadium Club.
We went to Toyota Park to enjoy a Chicago Fire soccer game with children and grandchildren. This is the second time that I visited the venue (the first time was a couple of years after it opened). I was pleasantly surprised to find a well maintained, efficiently operated, secure, family friendly venue. The food and beverage vendors were reasonably priced (for a sports venue), easily available, and the food was very good. The staff was friendly, helpful, and polite. In short, our visit to this venue was a totally enjoyable experience. A bit of advice; if attending an evening event find seating on the west side of the venue, otherwise you'll be looking into the sunset.

I booked this spa for my two sisters and I and my mom for her 80th birthday. The spa is beautiful! We arrived early, as advised on the website, so we could relax in the hot pool and steam room - very nice! The "quiet room" is spacious and comfortable with small groupings of chairs, although we did wish there was a "socializing" room where the four of us could feel better about talking and laughing loud. The treatments were all wonderful! Because I booked well in advance, we were able to have all four of us have pedicures and manicures at the same time. They are very organized, with staff constantly around to make sure all is going well and amenities are kept stocked. We will definitely return!

Certainly, one of the more interesting things about cemeteries is the old architecture and headstones. Resurrection does not disappoint in that regard. The cemetery also has been the site of several sightings of "Resurrection Mary", though I have a feeling that some of the sightings are after a long night of drinking in the local bars.

The Fine and Performing Arts Center offers an array of music, dance, theater, and art for all ages. Home to the Dorothy Menker Theater, the John and Angeline Oremus Theater, and the Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery, the center opened its doors in 1994. The center prides itself as a showcase for performances, a catalyst for budding artists to practice their art, a center for academic preparation for two-year degrees and transfer programs, and a resource for all who love the arts and want to learn more. The mission of the Fine and Performing Arts center, through its public presentations of dance, music, theater and the visual arts, is to enrich the members of the college community by providing opportunities for people of all ages to experience and grow through the arts.
We are so lucky to have this beautiful entertainment center just a few miles away. The center features 2 theaters, one large enough to hold concerts, choral groups and top entertainers. There is plenty of parking (free) and they usually have light refreshments (coffee, sweets, etc) available for sale. The Art Gallery is usually open before and during the intermission.

Lake Katherine is a botanical garden in Palos Heights, right off Rt 83 near 76th that includes woodlands, prairie, wetlands, and formal gardens. There is a nature center that is fun to check out, a mile loop walking trail around a ten acres lake. I rented kayaks for 2, single but they also have canoes, and double kayaks for rent. There are workers who give you life jacket, brief kayaking tips, and help you get in/out of the water. No escorted. Calm waters. We saw heron, geese, ducks, turtles, and fish. Very pleasant. I reserved ahead (very easy with phone call) and was glad.. Some people came in as we were there and asked about renting a kayak... No luck, they were all booked up. The nature center closes @4, so that is the latest you can kayak. Free parking. You can bring a picnic lunch if you want. Beautiful grounds. They also rent out for events.
Tomorrow is the Butterfly Festival. Lots of things to do check out the web site. Kid friendly. Bathrooms on site.

Such a fun experience and great value to visit the Tivoli. The price is half of the traditional theaters...as are the refreshments (and drinks and popcorn have free refills). The seats are comfortable, the screen is exceptionally large, and the venue itself has so much to admire and holds a lot of people. There is also an organ player if you go on Friday or Saturday nights. Hands down, our favorite movie theater!!

Great place to take a hike and visit the new nature center. Live turtles, birds, owls, snakes and fish. Great area for kids to play and learn about nature.

Built in 1930 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the 125 limestone stairs brings one to the 800 acre preserve full of trails, waters and wildlife. Be sure to pause near the railing at the top to view Chicago's skyline. The Boy Scouts installed a ring "counting" system for those that want to track their rd trip jaunts on the stairs. My daughter told me that some still prefer the stacking of stones on the ledge for their count. A concession bldg. on the ground level offers food, beverages as well as a warming area and restrooms. The phone number for the concessions is 800-870-3666; it appears to be seasonal. The stairs are not wheelchair accessible. Considerable parking but beware this tends to be a very popular attraction.

Third time I've been here. Beers are decent. Atmosphere not bad but no chips, no pretzels. No snacks. When your drinking flights of beer it's nice to have something in between. The popcorn machine was just collecting dust in the corner. They have food trucks at night I'm told but unfortunately it wasn't night. A restaurant on the corner delivers but why should you have to wait. Come on already !!
