A beautiful, thickly wooded park lined with over 14 miles of hiking and biking trails.
What a treat! We explored this urban state park for the first time on a sunny October Sunday and had a blast. Dense forest with well-maintained trails signed at every junction. Paved, accessible Trillium trail begins at visitor center, as does packed-earth MainTrail and others that form 2-mile and 4-mile loops. Fantastic array of mushrooms and several wooden bridges crossing the namesake creek. Stumps and other fun kid scramble zones. One suspension bridge is closed for repairs; it is so marked. Enough parking. No fee. Visitor center closed due to Covid, and no paper trail maps were available; I recommend downloading one online for your phone. Horses allowed on some of the trails; leashed dogs on all. Most users wore masks. We were rarely alone - it’s a popular park - but still found serenity.

Beautiful park and lots of trails for hiking/biking. Some of the trails run along the Willamette River and lots of shade. There's a historical Butte Country Store you can easily hike to. Nearby is an old homestead. Fun to read the postings about it's history in the 1800's. Plenty of tent/trailer sites for camping. They also have cabins and yurts you can rent. Plenty of areas to play frisbee too. Day use permit is $5

Beautiful park great for rockclimbing.
Of course, this was during the off-season (October), but it was such a peaceful, chill place! So very green too! And it's just a few minutes drive from the campground to Multnomah Falls, which is well worth a visit!

I took my kids here to try out the kayaks, its a big park very beautiful alot of activity areas for voleyball, frisbee golf, fishing . There is a small lake that has a couple docks its full of little pan fish that my kids loved catching and releasing. U also have access to the Willamette river and long paved bike trails to walk or ride a bike.

We found this park by chance and even though it was later in the day, decided to pay the $5 parking fee and walk around the site. We saw the barn and kitchen garden, then walked down a paved path to the river. It was peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. Well worth the visit. We will go back soon so we can explore more of the area.
