This place is out of ordinary ! Such a cool farm park for the kids. Loved the little track to the secret garden, the tree house is pretty cool and all the swings and trampoline for the kids! Definitely a place to visit with kids.

Shakespeare Cliff Scenic and Historic Reserve

Reviewed By Irish_Kiwi77 - Wellington, New Zealand

The views of the bay are amazing from the lookout at the top and there are a few signs explaining a bit of the history of the area and the names of the islands in the bay. There is also a separate viewing area for Lonely Bay. There is parking available at the top and it is a short walk to the lookout from the car park, if you are walking it is a bit steep on the the way up.

We took the ferry this past weekend for the first time. Good pricing for the few minute trip across the harbour. Both sides of the harbour and wharves are kept in excellent condition. Very picturesque area. An easy walk to the Whitianga town centre. And on the other side nice walk to Flaxmill Bay and if you want to go further to Shakespeare Cliff scenic area. Well worth a look.

Visited here last weekend. Very peaceful and well maintained old cemetery. Just a short ferry ride across the harbour from Whitianga (or you can take the longer route and drive).
