Whitby is a seaside town, port and civil parish in the Borough of Scarborough and English county of North Yorkshire. It is located within the historic boundaries of the North Riding of Yorkshire. Situated on the east coast of Yorkshire at the mouth of the River Esk, Whitby has an established maritime, mineral and tourist heritage. Its East Cliff is home to the ruins of Whitby Abbey, where Cædmon, the earliest recognised English poet, lived. The fishing port developed during the Middle Ages, supporting important herring and whaling fleets, and was (along with the nearby fishing village of Staithes) where Captain Cook learned seamanship.

Have visited here previously and every time I’m in Whitby this is the one shop I’m constantly drawn back to. This summer purchasing a small jet pendant set in silver as my 12yr old son had his heart set on wearing one like I have (which was also purchased from here a couple of years ago) Having gone into the quaint and welcoming workshop I didn’t see a pendant like I had. I spoke to a lovely chap who owned the shop and he said he’d have a look for a suitable piece of jet. Having found this he said he’d make it for him and to return later. Upon returning he’d make a stunning pendant which made my son smile from ear to ear. Sadly last week my son caught the chain and the bail came apart and the pendant lost. Tears ensued and I got in touch with the Ebor via phone. After sending a few emails and measuring the one I had I was told by David he’d make one up especially. True to his word this was done in a couple of days and he went out of his way to pop it in the post that evening so my son would have it as quickly as possible. The next day a lovely black ember lol arrived and the pendant was with us. Thankfully my son is happy again. It’s also good to know they only work with genuine jet. Their pieces are unique and work with you to make custom pieces. The epitome of customer service. As soon as I’m back in Whitby they’ll be no doubt I’ll be visiting again.

My significant other booked me in for cut throat razor shave, as i had never had one. Amazing experience and honestly the best shave i have ever had. I would recommend booking as 2 people enquired as to drop in appointments while i was in the chair. They seem to be booked solid at least a week in advance. They are not just a barbers, they stock many shaving related items, but also clothing and alcohol. Its a venerable emporium to all things gentlemanly. I visit whitby yearly and am already looking forward to a return visit. I ended up buying more shaving cream as the one they used on me was amazing and an improvement on my normal brand. The after shave balm was also so popular that they had sold out. They have great knowledge of the products down to be able to tell me the origins of each, where they are manufactured and whether they are vegan or not. Amazing shave, Amazing Staff, Amazing Shop.
