You can walk from Knightstone Island, either across the causeway or along the Cove itself, to Anchor Head and Birnbeck Pier. There is a cafe at Anchor Head. I always admire the almost-Continental shrubbery along the rocks lining the Cove. Also there seems to be many more benches in memory of dear departed ones all along the rockeries lining the Cove. Madeira Cove has an atmosphere of its own, very calming and relaxing, even in the wind although it's usually less windy hereabouts as it is somewhat sheltered. We had a delicious stroll, admiring the views on all sides. The sun was low in the sky and was streaming across the water! Absolutely lovely. We're so lucky to have beautiful walks like this.

Oh how beautiful it is, how peaceful and good for the soul! This must be one of the most gorgeous small parks in England, thanks to Weston in Bloom and other local gardening folk. Exquisiteness wherever you look, in all directions, from the Bug Hotel, Bug City, Jill's Garden, John's Cafe, flowerbeds, lawns, Grove House (Mayor's HQ) the rockery, the wilderness, and now individually labelled trees!! Never seen that in any park before. There were a few people there today, enjoying the gorgeous autumn sunshine and scenery, in this, the first week of the second lockdown. I am so lucky to be living ten minutes walk from here.

Ashcombe Park is a lovely victorian Park in Weston super mare. It is on a hill so there's a top park with cafe and childs play area and tennis courts that are currently under development possibly as the same as they were a little worn out. There's another childs play area (smaller) at the bottom of the park. The grass is always well trimmed and looked after and there's a worn out band stand at the top end. There are sections of wooded area to send the kids out dogs into for mini adventures if that's what is fancied. You can walk the whole circumference of the park in about 25 mins. All in all a very nice park that I've taken the kids too over the years. The dog still comes with me now though ????

Regularly visit the beach with the dogs during winter months, they love,as they are, allowed on all of it, summer months there is a restriction on dogs on the beach, my 2 young kids love the beach even in the winter, it's always, clean, and during the summer you can cool off with a lovely ice cream, or in the winter a warm drink, from any of the cafe's along the front, well worth a visit.

We parked here awhile and drank in the breathtaking views towards Somerset, i.e. Brean Down with Steepholm in the distance. It all seemed very near, almost walkable across the mud, which we know all too well is not possible.

We walked along in the glorious winter sunshine and stopped at Marine Lake Beach, gasping in admiration at the stunning views. In the summer, people sit on this little beach but yesterday of course it was too chilly, frosty actually. Being so near Knightstone Island gives this place a special feeling, plus there's the absolutely gorgeous causeway which runs from Madeira Cove to Knightstone Island. This is a hidden gem. Highly recomended for a breath-taking walk, spring, summer, autumn and winter!

Clarence Park is a popular place for visitors and residents alike. There's a play area for the children and a small cafe to eat in or have a takeaway. Large open grass spaces make this a good picnic area a manageable walk for the sea front away from the Pier area and the summer crowds. There's a private bowls club within the grounds that's open to the public between 10.00am and 6.00pm where would be bowlers can hire equipment for a reasonable sum and try their hand at the beautiful game. It looks so easy but its a lot of fun trying to control the woods which are biased and curve when in motion. Worth a go for anyone. A very pleasant place to spend some time.

A fine sunny spring day, and the Eat Weston food festival shows just how useful this space can become. There were food and drink producers from Somerset, Devon and surrounding areas, the stalls well spaced out so for the most part customers could move freely with reasonable social distancing. There was also a selection of street food available. Hopefully the council can attract more similar events like this which bring people into the town centre. These Eat festivals are well worth searching out around Somerset and beyond.
