The only drawback of being away from home at Easter is that we would be missing our local church service. Easter is a time of re-birth as the flowers bloom and the sun finally gives off a bit of heat. I randomly googled catholic churches. I saw Corpus Christi and as it was the nearest we headed there for the 10.30 service. Good choice. It was packed to the back doors. Standing room only. The priest gave a very uplifting sermon. He had all the children gather to receive their easter egg. Then it was over to the church hall for tea and biscuits. Lovely atmosphere. We enquired if it was usually this full and though it isn't, there is a healthy regular contingent and we could see by the amount of children that it had a strong family base. The priest (who has only been in post a few months) greeted us unfamiliar faces and chatted. We felt really welcomed. Broad age range. Lovely church, particularly the stained glass, friendly congregation. Ample parking. If we lived in Weston we would be regulars.
