Hugging the German border, Western Poland is made up of the West Pomeranian, Lubusz and Lower Silesian Voivodships (Provinces), the largest cities of which are Szczecin, Gorzow Wielkopolski and Wroclaw respectively. Both Szczecin and Wroclaw are beautiful medieval cities with many popular attractions. Drawno National Park, part of the massive Drawska Forest, lies at the convergence of West Pomerania, Lubusz and Greater Poland. Lubusz is also home to the bird-filled Ujscie Warty National Park.

Waly Chrobrego (German name: Hakenterrasse) - promenade with great views on Oder river and port, a favourite among the locals and tourists. Many cafes are situated here. See the Maritime museum (Muzeum Morskie), situated just in the center of Waly which houses some artifacts from history of the city and also has big collections of African and maritime artifacts.
Absolutely lovely place in centre Szczecin. Must have to see. All buildings and architecture just breathtaking.

The lighthouse is located at the entrance to the port of and its history dates back to 1666. In World War II the lighthouse was blown up by German engineers and after that time was built at a slightly different location from the original. The lighthouse is quite high- 26 metres tall, with a range of its light glare of nearly 30 kilometres.

Nice modern pier with a bar at the end. Open area in front seems to be a gathering point and is always busy and has its fair share of musicians and buskers. Pier is free, unlike others I have been on.

Very nice little seaside resort town, dominated in the center by the pier and the Amber Baltic hotel, Porsches and other supercars galore. Dotted along the town there are nice parks and sculptures and other sights like the bronze statues of famous Polish artists, the walk of fame, as well as a host of decent souvenir shops and restaurants. Great visit.

We loved the buildings facades and enjoyed a meal in a traditional restaurant on the square. Its a great place to sit and people watch.
