Since the early 1900s, West Yellowstone has provided a tourist-friendly gateway to the geysers of Yellowstone National Park and its resident bison, bears and elk. This Rocky Mountain enclave in southwestern Montana is an outdoor enthusiast's dream, offering snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and dog sledding in winter; trout fishing in fall; birding, biking and hiking in spring; and summer parades and rodeos. In-town eateries and attractions are an easy stroll from local lodging.

Had the best tour guide Cody! He was very knowledgeable, fun, and an Eagle Scout! I mean that literally...he would spot an Eagle hundreds of feet away on top of a tree while on the snowmobile! Absolutely wild! So worth the experience!

We were blessed with good weather during our visit to Yellowstone this fall. Due to snow on the ground and the shop’s advice I changed my plans from mountain biking to road biking. The knowledgeable staff was able to give me excellent bike route options for my weeklong stay. I can’t say enough good things about the ladies that work at the shop and their Chai Lattes were exceptional too.

Travelers great service and great equipment combined with the great local trials of West Yellowstone make for a great vacation! We were beginners to snowmobiling and they took great care of us. Highly recommend renting the clothing; add a couple layers of your own underneath and you are good to go! Days Inn is conveniently located just across the street. Awesome experience all around!

Taking snowmobiles into the quiet solitude of Yellowstone National Park without the masses crowding to see every sight was absolutely fantastic and a must do on the bucket list Driving 70 miles along the open snowpack roadways seeing an abundance of wildlife, experiencing Old faithful and multiple geyers along the way, and being part of nature for 7 hours! If you are adverse to the cold, don't go on the snow machines, take one of the tour busses that are outfitted for the snow. If you choose the snow machines, make sure you follow the directions for dressing for the conditions or utilize Two Top insulated snow suits and boots!!! A great adventure, even their were moments of absolute cold to the bones!!
Yellowstone National Park - bear spray rentals and hiking goods. Launched in 2015, Bear Aware has been educating and equipping park visitors to hike and tour safely in Yellowstone. In 2019, a father used our bear spray to save his 10 year old son from a grizzly bear attack. The father stated our training was critical in his stopping the attack.
