We had an absolute blast on our ride to the top of Seneca with Bubba and Tiffany. My two girls, ages 12 and 10, had never ridden an horse before and neither had my husband. All three of them were smiles from ear to ear the whole entire time!! We will for sure be returning to do this again!!

Although we had some difficulty finding the address, once we did, we all had a wonderful time! We had a group of seven riders of varying ages (from 8 to almost 50) and abilities (from very nervous to competitive riders) and everyone enjoyed themselves. The horses were so well behaved and Gary was so good with both the horses and the riders. We did a two-hour ride through beautiful scenery -- up and down hills, through a creek, and along a forest path. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone!

Explore the ancient Appalachian mountains the way they were intended to be explored: On the back of a horse! With scenic views and a trusty mount, there is no better way to experience Canaan Valley. For over 20 years, Mountain Trail Rides has supplied families with a life time of memories, whether it's at the top of the mountain or in the depth of the woods. Kick back at the shop, play with barnyard critters, or explore the underground gem mine. There's family fun for everyone!
My husband and I were spending a few days in the area with two grandchildren and looking for something to do. We found this and called the next morning to make same-day reservations. Our grandchildren (ages 6 and 8), and my husband had never ridden horses, and I have limited experience. The facility is small but clean and charming. The staff was very friendly. Our guide, Kristen, was wonderful with the children (we learned she was a preschool teacher). Each child was on his/her own horse, and the horses were placid and very well-trained. We followed Kristen on her horse in single file through the breathtaking scenery of the Canaan National Park. Birds were singing as we rode through fields of wildflowers, then entered shady woods with bright green ferns bordering the path. We couldn’t have had a better experience as beginners.

Had a great time on the trails. Our guide (Allison) was friendly, helpful, and informative. Enjoying a trail ride to Cranny Crow overlook was the highlight of our time touring Lost River!

We visited Equestrian Adventures for the first time this week. We have a family of five with teenagers. We have all ridden previously but are not very experienced. It is a very laid back set up. We did a private ride with Gary, the owner. His instructions were quite good. Better then what we have experienced in the past. The terrain is interesting. It had rained heavily so it was a wet and slippery ride. We all enjoyed it. The horses were all good and easy to ride. One of the things we really enjoyed was that it was much less structured than the typical walking nose to tail type ride.
