Mission Hill Family Estate Winery

Located in the heart of British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, Mission Hill Family Estate is world renowned for its award winning wines, stunning setting and architecture, and Terrace Restaurant. Majestic mountains, a scenic lake and lush orchards encase the winery's dramatic architecture and combine to create a setting that celebrates wine, food and the arts. With organic viticultural practices that ensure care for the environment, and a timelessness that respects the family's European heritage, the winery is a refuge from the hurried pace of daily life. Visitors can Sample fine wines, marvel at the vista and reflect on a process that's almost as old as time itself.

One of the most beautiful vineyards in Kelowna, Kalala Organic Estate Valley was certainly one of the highlights of my first ever trip to the Okanagan Valley. Family owned and run, the essence of Kalala lies in the passion and warmth of its owners and employees. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the family members during my wine tasting experience and they told me about the Kalala Story, which is not just impressive, but truly inspiring! The vineyard is the brainchild of an engineer turned viticulturist, who, along with his wife and kids, is the proud owner of one Canada’s most awarded wineries. The staff at the winery are not just professional, but very kind and friendly. The values with which they run this little gem of a vineyard are unparalleled, producing some of the most delicious organic wines. While their Dostana is the showstopper, I liked the entire selection of wines that I tasted. Coupled with stunning views of the Okanagan Lake, this winery is an absolute must visit while in Kelowna!

This dock was here when I was kid, and still is. The district of West Kelowna has done well maintaining the facility for families and the children to enjoy the fantastic okanagan lake during the summer months. Could be better if the district was enforce the parking area for time usage so more could enjoy. Too many locals park there for the day to catch the bus to work. Not right, its a facility for all to use not just a parking lot.

Glen Canyon Regional Park

My sister and I visited Glen Canyon Regional Park to search for several geocaches. Before we entered the park, we read the informational sign and learned that in the area we were in, there were three scenic, well-marked trails to choose from. Dogs are allowed on leash. Our quest took us on the Doe Trail. We enjoyed walking this peaceful trail and soon arrived at our destination. Since bears may be active in this area, we were ready with our bear spray that we always carry with us.

While geocaching, we came upon this lovely 2.6 hectacre regional park in West Kelowna. There is a great view of Okanagan Lake. It is flat and level, making it an easy walking area. We passed the Nut Farm as well as viewed a family cemetary located on the grounds. There is a large parking lot nearby, making it to access these sites.

The Hatch

Certain to be the finest tasting establishment in British Columbia, the hatch is a place where one can come and enjoy wine, and life.

We stopped at The Hatch as part of a wine tour through Sip & Anchor tours. There were 6 of us and this was EVERYONE'S favourite stop on the tour. The vibe in the tasting room was super chill, great music playing, and everyone was quite casual which was nice. We tried 7 different wines (7!!!), from whites to orange to rose to reds. Not only was our server knowledgeable, he was hilarious, which made the tasting that much more enjoyable. The wines themselves were awesome! I bought 3 bottles, but am kicking myself for not buying more considering we cannot buy it where we come from. With the cool atmosphere, great artwork on the labels, and obviously great-tasting wines, this is a must-go for your next trip to the Okanagan!

This place is absolutely wonderful! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for great wine, great location, and a great price point. Not to mention the service - Shelly and Steve are so kind and friendly, they made our experience so much more entertaining and memorable. I really appreciate an establishment that are knowledgeable of the wine, and enjoy telling you about it. I will (and already do) recommend Indigenous. It is by far my favourite winery in the valley! - and I do love my vino! Thank you again we will 100% be back.
