I called ahead and made reservations for lunch 1 week in advance, but upon arrival they said I had no reservation for lunch, but that it would not be a problem. Thankfully it was a quiet day.. The food is good, but expensive. Go for the ambiance and the feel of Hollywood glamour!

Sunset Plaza

Sunset Plaza has been an oasis for shopping for over 90 years. It’s the ideal place to spend an afternoon shopping, pampering oneself, and then having a relaxing meal al fresco. It currently features 41 designer shops and spas and 6 restaurants and cafes with more coming soon! Sunset Plaza has had, as its many tenants, haberdashers, agents, decorators, salons, restaurants and nightclubs such as the legendary Trocadero. Several of the tenants are historically notable for the part they played in Hollywood and design history, such as photographer George Hurrell, and fashion designers Adrian and Don Loper, and Elizabeth Arden. Most recently, Sunset Plaza was chosen as a location for Vanity Fair’s Oscar Party, where a large tent was built to highlight the gorgeous views over Los Angeles. A visit to Sunset Plaza is one of the consummate experiences of traversing the Sunset Strip. Taking a break from the hectic traffic and non-stop growth in the area is one of the most enjoyable ways to while away the afternoon.

I worked on the Sunset Plaza for years and it never gets old! Le Petit Four has some really great French cuisine, I love the Chinese food at ChinChin, and the new Italian place is also good fun for drinks and a pizza! There is always lots of outdoor seating, plenty of parking in the back, and there is plenty of celebrity/people watching. Once in a while it can feel a little pricey and snooty, but most of the time it's a fabulous place to walk around, shop at Fred Segal or one of the other great little boutiques, and have a great outdoor meal with some friends and a bottle of wine. I highly recommend this heavenly slice of LA; I like it far better than Rodeo.

Sunset Strip

Reviewed By Comanderkody

Looked at two hotel; one on the strip and the other near Hollywood boulevard. Glad I picked the strip because Hollywood boulevard was a waste of time. It was a 1.75 bus ride but only stayed about an hour. The strip had plenty to do including good restaurants and live music. Plus plenty of famous places including the Whisky and Chateau. Also did not have the crowds. I also saw Joni Mitchell's "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

Although torn down in 1988, tourists can still visit the Sunset Boulevard site where the country's most famous pharmacy used to stand.
