Stopped by this pub on a day out, post lockdown most places need to be booked and all along this part of Argyle Street, which is full of pubs, had all been booked. Managed to get in here, with the social distancing restrictions etc it wasn't too busy, plastic shields up between tables. Hand sanitizer available, one in one out toilet system, table service. Staff friendly and polite. Would definitely go back.

Often mentioned in local magazines/guides and international travel guides as 'the best pub in glasgow' - it is a bar/pub (no food). Alternative music played. Locals. Art deco interior which has remained the same for years and years and years. Hope you add it, it has so much character.
This is for Mark and Ana, assistant manager and, respectively, barkeeper par excellence at my favorite place in Glasgow: The Variety Bar on Sauchiehall Street. Though it’s difficult to imagine any watering hole in Glasgow which isn’t friendly (the city being one of the warmest places I know), The Variety is extra special, having those qualities most important to an aging barfly and solo traveler - small, dark, relaxed and friendly, it has a mixed ‘un-hipster’ crowd, and a staff who enjoy personal conversation when invited. The music is good, as are the drinks of course, and it’s the one spot I call home when I revisit Glasgow.

Iconic Venue in Glasgow. Club Nights 365 Days a Year. Music Policy: Chart, Dance, Pop & Urban Beats.
The Garage is easily the best club I have been to in Glasgow. Multiple rooms to float between is amazing as you can just navigate your way to another room if the current one isn't your thing. Bouncers/Stewards are always on top of things and have never given me any bother. There's always some sort of themed events with cool club decor/light-show/drinks which separates it from some other clubs. Went to see Royal Republic here too and it serves as a really nice gig venue, although it was very packed.

In 1991 Nice'n'Sleazy opened its doors. We are centrally located on Sauchiehall Street, the heart of Glasgow's nightlife and in close proximity of Glasgow School of Art. Open from 12pm 'til 3am, 7 days a week our upstairs bar serves food until 9pm, catering for meat eaters and vegans alike. Our downstairs venue is open from 7.30Pm every night and hosts a busy schedule of gigs/club nights including both local and touring acts.
Always a friendly atmosphere and live music which is always entertaining. Definitely recommended if your in Glasgow
