Werribee Park is a truly unique property with many stories to share. From Aboriginal communities that are known to have wandered the area, to the arrival of Scottish immigrants making their fortune in the 19th century and subsequent use as a seminary by the Catholic Church, Werribee Park offers an authentic insight into three facets of history. Step into the Mansion and experience the opulence of the 1880's whilst listening to the chatter of the Chirnside family with an audio headset tour (fee for mansion entry applies). Take a stroll to the original farmyard where rustic bluestone outbuildings provide a stark contrast to the craftsmanship of Chirnside mansion. Wander through the unique riverine, journey through the contemporary Werribee Park Sculpture Walk or stroll through 10 hectares of beautiful formal gardens and open space park land. Only 30 minutes from Melbourne, take a walk at Werribee Park, today.
Wonderful place to visit. Beautifully curated and a great team of volunteers who you can tell love working there. Great insight into how life was back in the 19th century.

The garden will appeal to rose lovers as well as anyone that loves colour or the sweet smells from the flowers. The rose beds take different shapes with the name of the rose placed on bricks by them. Located adjacent to the Werribee Park Mansion makes this a a double delight to visit, especially as entry is free to both gardens.

Soak up the richness of Werribee Park, an estate built on the wealth of an Australian pastoral empire. Experience the grandeur of the Werribee Mansion, set up a picnic in the beautiful formal gardens or see a kaleidoscope of colour when the 5000 roses bloom in the Victoria State Rose Garden. Once the working heart of the Werribee Park estate, the remaining bluestone outbuildings of the farmyard provide a stark contrast to the elaborate craftsmanship of the Chirnside Mansion. Wander down to the heritage orchard and see the work the community and Parks Victoria have put in to preserve and restore the fruit orchard originally planted by the Chirnside family in the late 1800s.
This is quite surprising. Just because this was not part of our itinerary and a friend based in Melbourne recommended this park. Love everything in it, from the Mansion to the Rose Garden. Mind you, the Park hosted 2 Elton John concerts.

Stayed a couple of nights, comfy bed, spacious room. Staff friendly and helpful. Extremely beautiful surrounds and away from the hussle of Melbourne CBD made it relaxing and access to the indoor pool was a real bonus. Werribee Open Range Zoo is only a few minutes away.

A stunning place to visit, the cafe seems to be under new management which is fantastic, great food, coffee and very reasonable prices.. When the rest of the restaurants here fill up, this place will be an amazing place to visit or live, very cool, nothing like it in the west.

Always worth a visit any time of the year. On a warm Spring/Summer's day the walk along the beach is great - on a cooler day the bracing wind and the waves rolling your senses and renewed and invigorated! Try a coffee at the milk bar - they make a great one!! Take time to sit and watch the fishermen throwing out the reels in the hope of catching 'the big one' or just watch the small boats from the pier while the children play in the playground. A drive through the wonderful market gardens with their neat rows of vegetables or visit the magnificent cliffs on K road - there are endless things to do in Werribee South.
