The delightful village of Watamu is an eco-tourist’s dream, lined with sandy white beaches and hotels dedicated to sustainable tourism. Watamu is a quick snorkel away from the Malindi Marine Reserve Park, and Turtle Beach is the ideal spot for a swim and a tanning session. The village proper features quaint Kenyan shopping stalls called dukas, where you can stock up with supplies. Make sure to visit the Gede Ruins, a mysterious and heavily overgrown 12th century Swahili village, and the beautifully fluttery Kipepeo Butterfly Project.

The yoga at Watamu Treehouse is great. I did the Hatha classes and SUP yoga and both are highly recommended. Fantastic teachers in an amazing setting

A lady-driven taxi in Watamu and surrounding area, with official taxi license from the National Transportation Authority. The vehicle is a 4 seater Toyota mod. 2019 with plenty space for luggage. Fluent in English and available also for tours and sightseeing around the area.
We used Jelly for transfers from and to Malindi airport for our holiday in Watamu. It was so easy to communicate with her via whatsapp. She was early for both pick ups, her car was very clean and the boot completely empty for our luggage. She was very friendly with us and our children and told us snippets of information along the journey. She was significantly cheaper than the hotel transfers and provided an excellent service. During this corona virus time it was great to see her wearing a full mask and adhering to all rules. I am a nervous passenger and find the Kenyan roads a little scary at times but Jelly put me completely at ease by driving carefully. A good experience all round! Thanks Jelly - we will hopefully see you in December!
