Please give yourself time to tour this wonderful visitors center in Ashland. I was on a motor coach tour and we were running behind schedule, a negative of bus travel, but what I did see at this center, was very interesting. It is a beautiful building and I also noticed they had what looked like a great gift shop. I hope to get to the area by car someday to spend enough time to really explore this museum.

I used to walk this path "back in the day" when it was just a muddy trail used by Northland College Students. Now, the trail and some of the surrounding land is cared for by the Bayfield Regional Conservancy who has done an incredible job on trails, bridges, and signage. Don't forget to drop a donation in the box!! :)

Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua (sha-ta-qwa) is a year round non profit performing arts organization with a rich history. We operate an intimate 900-seat, all-canvas, state-of-the-art tent theater, producing and presenting a fifty-plus night summer season of concerts, lectures, and a highly acclaimed professional local troupe which performs original multi-media musicals in the tent and on tour. Tent Show Radio, a weekly one hour program which showcases live performances from the Big Top stage, is aired on public radio stations throughout the country.Named "The Best Outdoor Concert Venue" by the Minneapolis Star Tribune, June 2013.We partner with Non-Profit Mt. Ashwabay Outdoor Education Foundation who provide 100% of food and drink concessions.
This was just a wonderful experience. The tent is at the bottom of a ski hill and is staffed by volunteers. There are shops, food, ice cream and beer tents on the grounds. Our show was an Opry outlaw presentation. The musicians were just amazing. They had the audience engaged and on our feet by the end. Just a must do at a great price.

Players were fantastic....has great bar with view of Lake Superior a few blocks away. Had delicious free snacks with drinks. Great bargain for the $$!

We brew some of the best beer in the country at this Ashland location and also at the Taphouse down the coast in Washburn. There are always an excellent selection of our brews on tap in our partner restaurants the Deep Water Grille and The Alley.
Husband and I stopped at the restaurant portion - Deep Water, for lunch on our way to Cornucopia B&B. Hubby had the delicious large and good quality black angus burger while I tried the Oredecker which sounded unusual due to the fact that there were French fries in the sandwich. The hostess willingly answered our questions about the city of Ashland, including what the Oredecker was and other aspects of the town's history. Will definitely return on our next trip. And definitely want to return for dinner when even more options are available.

This beach area was very clean and had lots of area's to picnic. a wonderful place to take sunset photos. The water is usually very, very cold but we just put our feet in and it was nice. Has a very nice play ground for children.

Our favorite on Chequamegon Bay! They vastly improved pads with thick layer of Chad gravel. New camp host is very helpful. Still have shuttle to Big Top shows. Vastly improved signage for water spigots with new pressure valves. Oh..Free WIFI has improved. Great location to kayak adventure and enjoy lake.

We stopped here during the Chequamegon Bay Birding and Nature Festival. The birding was fabulous along the trails - waterbirds to warblers to large waterfowl were all found within the park.
Be sure to also look down as well as up - lots of watercress in the springs! Quite good too with the fresh spring water.
Beautiful park with a neat history.

Stopped n with a motorcoach for a few days. The first site was unlevel but I found a site quite level. Great location to Washburn and the surrounding area, such as Bayview and Ashland. Park has a playground, beach, electric hookups and nice roads.

"Just" a local watering hole, but awesome eats in the kitchen they make from scratch, a good drink, and a great bar! I was in for late lunch, and a few families with kiddos joined too, but later in the night it's a great bar scene for to unwind too! Met the owners Barb and Wally, and their son the manager Garret, too! Talk about personal touch! Well done Patsy's!
